3. There are 23 initial shengmu b, p, m, f, d, t, n, l, g, k, h, j, q, x, zh, ch, sh, r, z, c ,s, y, w.

4. There are a total of 6 simple finals, they are, a, o, e, i, u, ü.

5. There are 29 compound finals in Chinese, and they are -ai, -ao, -an, -ang,
ei, en, eng, ia, ie, iu, iao, ian, iang, in, ing, iong, ou, ong, ua, uo, ui, uai, uan, un, uang, ueng, üe, üan, ün

6. There are 4 tone notes, however there's one tone note that is toneless. The 4 tone marks are ā, á, ǎ, à. And the neutral tone mark is having no marks above the word.

7. You put the marks only above the simple finals. If there 2 vowels place the tone mark in the order of the simple finals.

8. There are 55 strokes in the 2nd Chinese character.

Pinyin is 
  1. the standard system of romanized spelling for transliterating Chinese.
  2. an optional initial consonant + vowel (accompanied by tone) + optional final consonant (n or ng).
  3. 23 initial consonants
  4. 38 finals
  5. nine compound finals in Chinese
  6. four basic pitched tones and a fifth neutral (toneless) tone 
    • mā
    • má
    • mǎ
    • mà
  7. Vowels (a, e, i, o, u, ü) get the marks 
    • The Chinese tone marks are always above a letter.
    • No tone mark above the consonants
    • “a” or “e” always gets the tone mark. (There is no Hanyu Pinyin that contains both a and e)
    • If you see “ou” or “uo,” then “o” gets the mark
    • The final vowel gets the tone mark in all other cases.

Pinyin is the standard system of Romanized spelling of transliterating the Chinese language

There are 3 parts, the initial, the final, and the tone marker

There is 23 beginning simple shengmu, or consonants they are: b, p, m, f, d, t, n, l, g, h, k, j, x,q, z, c, s, zh, ch, sh, r, w, y

There are the 6 simple final yunmu, which are a, o, e, i, u, ü

There are 9 compound final yunmu, which are  ai, ei, ao, ou, iu, ui, ie, üe, er

There are 5 tone marks in pinyin chinese including the toneless tone which are ā á ǎ à a 

The rules for marking is that only the 6 simple final yunmu( a, o, e, i, u, ü) get a mark, none of the 23 beginning simple shengmu consonants will have any marks. All the time, a and e will always have a tone mark, if there is ou or uo, the o will have a mark. And finally, the final vowel will have a mark in most cases.
