Part II: After posting, go back and read through your classmates posts and look for patterns. Then post on this PADLET LINK what you are seeing for patterns and overall themes (i.e. "analyze the findings"). Limit your padlet post to 200 words if typewritten.

The experience we had during college days have taught us the exams can be tricky and how the professors gives out the exams due to their knowledge. -Regina Daniels

A common theme throughout the posts is the disconnect between the Construct, Content Domain, and Content Areas. The tests often do not measure the course material taught. They test ability to complete the instrument. - Peter Stemp

The common theme and thread within many of the posts is the relative value of testing. It is clear that we have all experienced testing that didn't articulate our abilities both perceived and in reality. As someone mention testing should assess what we have learned and not what the construction thinks we should know.

The two things that popped out most to me were tests that didn't match the learning or tests when there were high stakes involved and struggles with understanding. When there were high stakes and struggles with the understanding the content, then anxiety played a role in test taking. One thing that I love about the EDD program is that all of my professors want us to have a deep understanding and it is assessed in many different ways, not just a quiz/test. I like the application of knowledge through writing and the journaling has been powerful for my learning process as well.

That was something which a few other people posted that I noticed. Another theme I saw throughout the posts was on the application of materials that were presented for a test rather than simple memorization of the material.

-Gwen Paxon

One theme I noticed which was kind of fun to read about were the number of people who had memories of Biology tests. I am thinking that this might happen because of the two different ways that science classes are taught - books and labs, and if a student didn't have an opportunity to experience hands on learning - application of the material prior to a test, this could potentially lead to a situation where the test is not assessing the content that was to be learned.

What is appear to be a pattern is how many of us are surprised with the content of different standardized test. Furthermore many of us take different high stake test oblivious of the anxiety that may be caused by colleagues next-door. Thus there tend to exist Differences in the domains tested with the actual expectation on the ground.
