the initial view of the Native Americans was glossed over and sort of ignored important aspects of history and important events. Leaving out certain aspects of history is still happening today that goes unnoticed.

I think there is a lack of accurate information and representation today due to the views of European settlers. Their culture is also not frequently represented or represented accurately in our current world and in the education system.

-movie stereotypes (or other media-TV shows, videos, etc.)

-education: what stories are told, what information is being excluded from curriculum, putting forward one lens of information (what we are taught is thanksgiving vs real thanksgiving)

there is a HUGE lack of representation in American schooling (even today) about what life was like in North America BEFORE European settlers came over to the "US", and what life was like forr the Native Americans (aka representing THEIR point of view)

We see this in education and how many things we are taught in elementary school

are incorrect but we never think to look into what we are learning and fact checking.

Also in sports how the Native Americans are used as mascots and how fans will dress

up in head gear that is culturally inappropriate. Children also think the same as their parents

and are often influenced by what they hear in their home life.
