1:2...... The theme of this book is to gain Wisdom and instruction from the Lord. You do this by fearing the Lord. Verse 7 states, " The fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
1:2-7.. The fear of the Lord.. How do you fear the Lord and what is it? To fear the Lord means to respect, honor and love him. You respect the Lord because he is the creator of the world and he is the most powerful being in the world. If you don't fear the Lord you might miss out on the blessings that he has in store for us. You fear the lord by following his commandments and his word. To fear the Lord is not being scared that if you sin lightening will strike you dead. To fear him is to respect and follow his commands even when no one else is doing it.

He offers us his knowledge and his advice but if we ignore it for the little things he will ignore us for the big things. In verse 28 it states, "When they cry for help i will not answer. For the evil will try to lead you down a path though promises that will not be kept. For their path leads down the path to death. Those who follow down her path none will return or attain the paths of life. So we must walk in the ways of the good and keep the paths of the righteous. We must show discernment and express what we have learnt from him. For the things of this word are very tempting. In verse 3 the Lord compares these things to honey and oil. But in the end these things are as bad as poison and as dangerous as a double edged sword. For these things lead to death. he even states that they lead straight to the grave. For these things don't care about the path of God, but the earthly path. She states to stay away from them, and even the doors of them. These things are pride, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in a family. All of these things have one thing in common, that they all involve how people treat each other. This shows us that God wants us to do the golden rule pretty much. This rule is to do unto other as we would have them do to us. He wants us to take care of each other and love one another.
