Macarena Patti and Justina Sisto
They try to explain things through the use of evidence and observations

Cao - Rudolph - Del Aguila

Perhaps the biggest outstanding mystery surrounding the virus’s biology is where it came from. Strong evidence suggests that it originated in bats, and probably passed to humans through an intermediate animal. A number of animal species are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection, including cats and mink. In September, the World Health Organization (WHO) formed a scientific team to investigate the animal origin of the pandemic, starting its search in China and expanding elsewhere.

Epidemiologists have rushed to develop models to predict the virus’s spread — and suggest what public-health measures could help to control it.

Epidemiologists advised that mass testing for SARS-CoV-2 was the way out of the crisis. But in many countries, shortages of kits and reagents for the standard tests, which use a technique called PCR, created bottlenecks. This spurred research groups worldwide to start devising new rapid tests, including those based on the gene-editing tool CRISPR and fast antigen tests, which could help with diagnosing diseases that emerge in future.

Social Media: (phone, computers)

Meanwhile, conspiracy theories, misinformation and sketchy science spread almost as fast as the virus. These included discussions about the merits of letting the virus run its course instead of controlling it.

Example:

Uncertainty early in the pandemic about whether the virus was airborne led to debate about the benefits of wearing face masks, which became politicized .

Political parties: (different restrictions)

But in many countries, officials were slow to act, ignored scientific advice or struggled to ramp up testing. The result was an uptick in infections that led to a second wave. And across the United States and Western Europe, COVID-19 infections and deaths are now surging once more.
Researchers began to share data more openly and many published their work on preprint servers; and most publishers made their COVID articles free to read. Research culture also shifted, at least temporarily, away from emphasizing productivity and towards discussing broader issues such as work–life balance.

Feelings: Fear, Lockdown.

COVID-19 vaccines have been developed and tested with breathtaking speed. Results from large efficacy trials have shown that vaccines developed by pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German biotechnology firm BioNTech; US biotechnology company Moderna; and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, UK, effectively prevent COVID-19. Vaccines developed in China and Russia had already been approved, but before final-stage testing in people had been completed.

Macarena Patti and Justina Sisto
In the majority of situations, ignorance/lack of knowledge is not an excuse for unethical behaviour due to the fact that nowadays, technology and research is very advanced. To take reasonable decisions we have various perspectives and opinions we can access easily, so seeking for the best ethical behaviour is not a challenge that can’t be surpassed. However, in certain cases, ignorance or lack of knowledge is an excuse for unethical behaviour. For instance, with Covid-19, because in this case every person that investigated or started to find technological solutions were blind about this virus, meaning that nobody knew what it consisted of, the danger it presented and how deadly it was. Every scientist started to investigate this unknown virus, so it is an excuse that they could mess up or take rush and unethical decisions as they didn’t know where to start the research. Besides, every scientist had their own opinion on how to face it. An example of an unethical decision is the first quarantine in Argentina, which was rushed and unethical, since it did not protect the health or economic situation of the country. However, a behavior that can be excused is the race to find a vaccine, which meant that many stages of testing were skipped.

Because of technology data is always updated, so when studying fro example anthropology students have all the information quick and reliable this before having the websites did not occur, maybe students had to read tones of informative books, and interviews and now we google it and we have lots of websites with the same information. This brindles facility for students and shorts their time of study and working, everything is simple than before technological advances.

Elena Ferrari Torres and Isabel Silva Anzorreguy
Sometimes methods used in the Human Sciences are limited by the ethical considerations involved in studying human beings.

Human sciences aim to describe and explain human behavior of individuals or members of a group it can be said that at the time of study people, may read and analyze secondary or primary sources, within this ones the perspective of the information will be completely different. While having a primary source we know that the author was from the time being study and may be emotionally involved which is not completely reliable. And on the other hand, secondary sources are when the author is not from the time study so he had the chance of gathering more information from different sources and come with another conclusion.

Another method known from the Human Sciences is the observation, which is the first method used by historians in order to analyze. This completely show how Human Science can be limited by ethical consideration in studying human beings. All observations are different, and maybe one historian think one thing and another one, this gives people different perspectives from the same human being. Here is were beliefs, religion, education, race and many other aspects appear and limit historians because of their ethics.
