Like Toni Morrison, I have worked for all kinds of people, both bighearted and narrow-minded. The one constant through all of the jobs was I worked where I wanted to work because I knew if I wasn't passionate about the company, the environment or the work I was doing, I would not be fulfilled. Sure, money is nice and comes with freedoms, but getting paid and feeling proud of your work is stronger than being paid and not being happy. When I worked as a teenager, I learned how businesses operate. I learned how to respect everybody and take care of them and their needs. They chose to come to our business to spend their money, and those working there had the expectation to make them happy. You can't learn a lot of these skills in school, or sports or clubs. You also gain responsibility, accountability, communication and team building skills.
