After being fully remote for the last school year, I am excited to collaborate and share ideas with other educators.  I think that being part of this cohort will help me to learn more about the variety of technology that was used to enhance instruction.  As Elena Aguilar mentioned in her article, reflective practice helps build resilience and this course will help me to reflect on the positive take-aways  from remote teaching during a global pandemic.

Goal: I want to effectively and efficiently incorporate technology into my teaching practices to provide students with engaging and meaningful learning activities that are focused on students’ success with the standards.

  • How do you predict this course might be valuable to you?   As a teacher I like to be prepared, I don't like reacting to students or situations. I like prepared and intentional environments and instruction. I think this course will support my needs to prepare and practice before presenting to children, families and teachers. That feeling of knowing why and how you are doing something is invaluable.
  • What are your intentions/goals for your learning in this course?   My goals are to come back to my classroom and early intervention work with tools and materials and a knowledge base grounded in best practice. My intention is to learn and grow as an educator and a student.

    A specific goal for me would be in the area of mathematics. I haven't explored much outside the Google suite, but I've heard great things about Padlet, Edpuzzle, etc. I want to be familiar with more tools to be able to pick the right one for each class, or lesson, or each student.

    2. My goal is to have some specific items/Internet tools I can plug right back into my teaching. The course overview says, "you will create a lesson, module, lesson component, unit outline, or some other product" which sounds awesome to me.
