How would you characterize the nature of revolt? Write down what makes you say so.

We think that the revolt of 1857 was a Sepoy Mutiny. We also think that religion played a huge role in theis mutiny.

The mutiny happened because of the hindu and muslim soldiers were forced to go against their religious beliefs when they needed to bite off the cartilage. This caused them to rebell against the British. However, the sikhs and gurukha soldiers were treade just fine and they did not have to go against their religious beliefs. Hence, the fought with the British against the hindu and muslim soldiers.

In our opinion the war discriminated the whole of India not only through religion but also through economy, politics and military. Indians were below the British after loss of administration and power. They were forced to fight in the army and endure acts that damaged their religious values.

Do you think revolt of 1857 was a turning point in the mindset of the Indians? How?

We feel the mindset change was that the Indians have learned to stand up for their religious belief and wanted a change. because of this, the British had asked the puppet rulers they placed to wage war against the rebellion.
After the 'Civil War' was over the British abolished the East India English Company and took complete control over India.

We also think that the revolt is a turning point because they finally realized that they are not being treated right and the fact that there was a movement or some sort of action that was created really helped.
