I was disgusted by the way we have handled this situation when those soldiers came in I knew violence was about to break out. I saw the guns, fire, and fighting start to happen. I decided that I was sick of this violence and war zone in the Tiananmen Square. One morning I was walking on the sidewalk and I saw the tanks coming. I decided I was sick of this and wanted to try to make a change. I walked out in front of the tanks and stood there. In my mind I was scared but I didn't care because I know how many lived have already been taken. They were coming towards me and I stopped and shooed them away. They didn't leave and they tried to go around me but I kept getting in front of them. Then it got quiet because the tanks turned on off. I got on top of the tank and yelled at them to stop and go away. There were a lot of different people there. Different people with different occupations all over China came just to protest. We were protesting peacefully for 2 months because we wanted the right to democracy and human rights. We all didn't do anything wrong at all other than peacefully ask for more human rights. We were at tiananmen square protesting until the government decided to send the army after us when we did go away. I didn't think much of it because we were not being violent or vandalizing anything. The army came in and they were not nice at all. Moments in they were shooting us telling us to go away. Everyone was shocked and terrified. A lot of people died that day. The next day they brought tanks and even more people died. It was terrible, I watched it through my apartment room. A bunch of tanks were driving and a man stood in front of the tanks. He protested the tanks, he kept moving in front of the tanks and eventually climbed on the tank and yelled at them. It was an amazing sight to see a man stand up for his country. It had a huge impact because he showed everyone they can be better and protest back. The rights violated were Freedom of Expression because they were killing the protesters. It changed the world because he stood in front of a tank. It showed the rest of the world what was happening in China. It also gave the people of China courage to fight back. Another right that was violated was the right to own your own things because I wasn't allowed to be in my own room and film something on a camera.
