The American Dream is an opportunity available to anybody. It is for goals to be achieved, commitment and hard work. No matter what your race or home-living situation is. The American Dream can only be achieved if you want it, you need to put your time into it and work for it. Some people aren't able to do this because they do not want to work and wait for results. They do not want to put their full commitment so they end up giving up and never achieving their goals.

My American Dream is to finish high school and get recruited for college softball. Not only do I want to play softball, but I would also love to start my career as a Pediatrician or Social Worker. I want to finish college majoring in nursing or psychology. I love children and being able to work with them will fill my heart. I know social work will be hard but I believe that I know and have been through enough to handle it.

Another one of my American Dreams is to have a family and own a ranch property with animals. Even though I would love to play softball forever, I know it will come to an end at some point. I love taking care of animals and would want to have lots of my own. Being able to have a big property seems so fun, you can have absolutely anything on it.

Ever since I was 7 years old, my dream has always been being able to play professionally and for the Olympic team of Italy. Now that I'm older and still continuing to grow up, I'm still trying to accomplish my dreams. I continue to work hard everyday and be the best version of myself. I leave all my effort and dedication on the field, not only for myself, but for my teammates as well. I have always wanted to be the best and play to my highest potential.

Interview: Melissa Pulicari (mom)

I interviewed my mom, Melissa Pulicari. My mom is an operations manager working in an male dominated industry. My mother's understanding of the American Dream is having opportunities and freedom. During her senior year of college, her professor encouraged her to work in upper management. She also agrees that one's dream depends on how much effort is put into it. "Nothing in life is free or handed to." My mother also states that her parents sacrificed a lot for their family. She didn't realize how much they did for her until she started growing up. She appreciates the sacrifices and everything they did.
“Never let anyone tell you 're not capable of doing something. Only you can determine that. There may be struggles, but those bumps in the road only make you stronger for bigger obstacles.”

Man in the Mirror: Micheal Jackson

Man in the Mirror by Micheal Jackson provides many pieces of evidence for the American Dream being alive and well. His song focuses on change and if you want to change you can't just wait around. You have to put yourself first before you want to change the world around you. In the song, Jackson's lyrics state "I'm starting with the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways". He needs to change himself before seeing change around the world.
Another lyric Jackson sings is "I'm gonna make a change, For once in my life, It's gonna feel real good, Gonna make a difference". Micheal knows that once he attempts to change it will feel good and be the right decision. This song supports my thesis by showing that people do struggle with themselves and their goals. They cannot give up, they need to push through the hard times to achieve their American Dream.

Pursuit of Happyness is a strong example of the American Dream. It shows the opportunities and struggles someone can go through, also if they are willing to achieve their goals. The American Dream is set stone for everyone having the right to live however they want, no matter the situation.
A big example of pursuit of happyness is a family breaking up while the father also struggles with his job. He continues to take care of his son and show happiness towards him, even though things are really hard financially. He tells his son to not be sit around and wait for things to happen. The American Dream inspires people to be their best self and push for their goals.

George and Lennie, two migrant workers, are striving to achieve their dream of owning a ranch of their own. Even though their goal was not achieved at the end of the book, they still continued to push and be dedicated towards it, no matter what challenges they faced. They worked very hard everyday to try to save up their money. They were very committed to achieving their dreams together and had each other's back.

The American Dream Is Alive and Well: New York Times

In the article, 'The American Dream Is Alive and Well' by Samuel J. Abrams talks about the American Dream and how people see it. Abrams explains the social struggles and achievements that people go through just to succeed. He joins forces and helps with a survey, consisting of 2,411 Americans, asking about their attitudes towards society and community. Most Americans did not select categories of being wealthy, owning a home or having a successful career. 85% indicated that “to have freedom of choice in how to live” was essential to achieve the American Dream, 83% also said “a good family life” was essential. Even though the American Dream is really based on peoples own opinions, this backs up my thesis by proving that anyone can accomplish their goals if they are committed.
