         <description><![CDATA[<div>So During the Prohibition it was illegal to sell, manufacture or transport alcoholic beverages throughout the United States of America. speakeasies was a nickname for these bars because patrons had to whisper code words to enter the establishments. Speakeasies claimed to sell soft drinks, but served liquor behind the scenes. The prohibition lasted 13 years.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Speakeasies were illegal drinking dens, saloons or nightclubs that sold illegal alcoholic beverages during the Prohibition Era 1920 - 1933.<br>- It wasn't illegal to drink during Prohibition, but the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution banned the making, sales &amp; transportation of liquor.<br>- Most "Respectable" women would not be welcome in a public bar, women as well as men began going to speakeasies.<br>- Many speakeasies, the only advertisement they needed to attract thirsty patrons and hide from police was a green door. <br><br></div>]]></description>
