I grew up waking up before the sun, joining my parents to buy fruits and goods that we would later sell in our little tindahan. After buying, I’d go home early ahead of them because some customers would already be waiting — loyal suki who bought early in the morning. I was still young, but I had a role to play. It wasn’t always easy, but it was our way of life. Those mornings taught me how to be responsible, hardworking, and grateful, even when things were simple and sometimes difficult. Now, life is kinder. We may not have everything, but we have more than enough — and for that, I’m truly grateful.

My High School Journey

From Grade 7 to Grade 12, I always received awards — medals, certificates, and honors. On the outside, it seemed like I had everything under control. But what people didn’t see were the silent battles I faced every day. I was afraid of speaking in front of people. I had stage fright, and every time I was called to talk or present, my hands would shake, my voice would tremble, and I just wanted to disappear. But despite that fear, I still showed up. I kept studying hard, participating in class, and doing my best — even when I was scared. Behind every award was a version of me choosing to be brave, even when I felt like running away. It wasn’t easy. There were moments I doubted myself and cried in silence. But I never gave up — because I knew that even if I was quiet, my dreams were still valid. To anyone like me — the quiet one, the overthinker, the one who’s scared but trying anyway — I see you. You don’t have to be fearless to succeed. You just have to be brave enough to keep going.

The girl who thought she couldn’t… is still here, still trying, still believing.

I didn’t expect to enter this university. The slots were already full, and to be honest, science has never been my strength. I remember thinking, “Maybe this isn’t for me.” But God had other plans. He made a way when it felt like there wasn’t one. Now, I’m here — surviving and pushing through a program I once thought I couldn’t handle. There have been times I wanted to give up. I’ve had moments filled with doubt, stress, and exhaustion. But I never had failing grades, and that alone is proof of how faithful God has been to me. I’m also beyond grateful for the friends who lift me up, study with me, and remind me I’m not alone. As a future teacher, one of my fears is demo teaching — the thought of standing in front of a class, being evaluated, and possibly making mistakes makes me anxious. But still, I choose this path. I believe that teaching is my calling, and no matter how scared I am, my desire to teach and inspire is stronger than my fear. My journey reminds me every day: It’s okay to be scared, but it’s not okay to let fear stop you. If God brought me here, He will also equip me for what’s ahead.

A Journey Still Unfolding

Looking back, my life may seem simple, but every part of it — from waking up early for our little tindahan, to silently struggling through high school, to nearly losing hope in college — shaped me into who I am today. It wasn’t an easy path, but it was meaningful. I’ve learned that it’s not always about how fast you reach your dreams, but how strong you keep going even when it’s hard. I’m still a work in progress, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come — and I know that with faith, courage, and the right people beside me, I can go even farther. “Faith doesn’t make things easy. It makes them possible.” — This is the truth I hold onto every day.
