         <title>SECOND CHARACTERISTIC- CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first two chapters of this unit are about the management and the preparation of the class. The effective teachers do not discipline the classroom but they manage it; they organize students, time for activities and materials. For a good management of the class, the teacher must have consistency. That means, no surprises. For that, the teacher has to establish procedures and routines. Effective teachers also, prepare everything. They need to prepare the floor space, the work area, the student area, the wall space, teaching materials, and themselves. Because prepared teachers maximize student learning and minimize student misbehavior and wasted time. The third and fourth chapter is about the teacher reputation and the seating assignments and arrangements. Effective teachers are conscious of their first words are important, care about their reputation and visit their students before the school starts. They assign students to their respective seats the first day. They keep in mind the type of activity for the arrangement of the seats but it is important that the seats are always facing the teacher. The fifth and sixth chapter is about the tasks assignment and the roll taking. Effective teachers post the assignments in the same place every day before the students come in the classroom. They know that assignments teach students responsibility. Besides, they start the class with an assignment and after that, they take roll quickly and quietly without disturbing the class. The following two chapters are about having a record book and rules. Effective teachers are based on three basic records: Attendance, Scores and Running total. The four attendance records are Present, Absent, Unexcused and Tardy. For recording scores, it is better to use a numerical system. Also, it is important to have a Running total line, because it helps them to see the progress of each student whenever they or the parents of the students want. Besides, it is important to have rules that students must follow because rules help to provide consistency in the classroom, therefore, it will be a safe learning environment. Finally, the last two chapters are about the importance of having discipline plans and procedures. Discipline plans should not degrade students, should be communicated at the start of school, should have reasons, etc. These plans have positive and negative consequences. The positive consequences are rewards when students abide by the rules and the negative ones are penalties when students break the established rules. Besides,  Procedures are important because they explain how the teacher wants something done. It is important that teacher has structured procedures for every activity. Procedures reduce wasted time, confusion and disruptions because the students know how things operate.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> </div><div><strong>Unit C</strong> talks about how the teacher can organize and create a well-managed classrom. It is really importat to know those steps because if our intentions are to guide our students in an excelent, relaxed and pleasant environment where students can be involved with their academic work, learn all the topics in the better way, without wasting time, without any doubt. It also says that “The fact that we will have a degree as a English Teacher doesn’t mean we will be a Teacher”. to be a teacher we must know about all the plans, learning styles, learning disabilities, motivation theory and a whole hoste of other things. But you need to practice and prepare everything. Prepare the classroom, prepare your desk, prepare the chairs, prepare the teaching materials, and finally prepare yourself.  If you prepare it all, everything will be organized and easier to work, you won’t find surprises and you will increase the proximity to the stodents and to the material. In addition, you will know how to teach, how to speak in front of the class, how to explain what you will going to teach. All those steps helps you to cultivate a positive reputation, to stabish a communication between parents and students. Also you must arrange the seating of the students to improve the roll talking, to remember their names, and most important, to separate potencial problems students, you can use this arrangement to the entire year and they will take the roll quickly and quietly and it very useful. Teacher also use the tree basic records. Attendance, scores and running total. Attendance is an important fact because students are graded by their presence in school and make the recording of attendance as efficient and pailess as possible is the way to control your student’s behaviour, or you can realize when any of your student are sick, or have a problem. Scores is the result of individual assignment for example: Tests, projects, homeworks, etc. You can count it using a system in letter, grades, or numerical. And the running total is basically their progress in the entire year. And you know what results should be recorded. It is also important to have rules in your class, and student muss follow to keep the excelent learning environment. There are 2 kinds of consequences using rules. Positive/rewards or negative/Penalties. But you must help students to understand that if they break a rule, they are not being punished. Also it is helpful to have a well-thought-out and structured procedure where studends must know from the beginning how they are expected to behave and work in a classroom work enviroment. <br><br></div>]]></description>
