Charlie and Simon Met up with the organisation the same day, bought hot drinks and talked to volunteers of the organisation and found that they were looking to make a film promoting the Mint Lane Cafe

They had learnt a lot about the organisation through talking and research on different events, such as Wellbeing Wednesday, Chit Chat Club and different gardening events.

They had quickly gained filming dates for the project as there was a short amount of time to make the documentary, these dates were:

Tuesday 23rd- donations and volunteers

Wednesday 24th- wellbeing Wednesday, interviews

Wednesday 1st of May- more filming wellbeing wednesday and refilm interviews

Friday 3rd of May- film Chit Chat Club and film people talking to each other

The entire group couldn't meet at once, so over text and meeting individually, we came up with a plan on how we are going to make this documentary.

The plan was to make the entire tone light and informative as the goal was to make people and organisations more aware of the Mint Lane as it isn't very well known around Lincoln. We planned to do this by showcasing the organisations impact on people who go and work there.

We also planned how the documentary would be structured, with it being into 3 acts in one film.

The first act would be about the cafe itself, showcasing customers coming in and buying food, showcasing food donations and deliveries coming in, and volunteers working in the cafe. This would be the longest but most impactful part of the documentary as there is a lot more to cover as this is the main space of Mint Lane.

The second act would focus on the Wellbeing Wednesdays where we will showcase people coming in for support, gaining essential items from the cafe and mainly focus on showcasing these peoples stories and how Mint Lane is helping them

The final act will focus on the Chit Chat Club where people will come in and talk to each other throughout the day and gain different stories or topics from members of the chit chat club. We would perform this by using the fly on the wall technique.
