In this source, the text mentions how the actress Mary Tyler Moore challenged the rule that 1950s women never wore pants on television. It specifically talks about limits being placed on women wearing pants, including how women were finally allowed to wear pants in the U.S. Senate in 1993. It spoke a lot about how Moore advocated for more realism in the show because showing women vacuuming and taking care of children in dresses and heels was not the reality of life. Moore won her argument, and her capri pants "revolutionized the image of American women on TV." This reminds me of how nurses in Malawi, who were also prohibited from wearing pants by their culture, argued and won the right to wear pants as medical professionals because of health and safety concerns.

In this movie, the main character rebels against Hitler by not joining the Nazi's. He is killed in the end but it truly shows how rebellion can change someone's life. It specifically talks about about a man from Poland who was killed for not joining the Nazi's. It spoke a lot about how even though he was all by himself he still had an impact. This reminds me of the American revolution because we were outnumbered but still gained independence from England

They point out the main reasons people drink then proceeds to talk about how others peer pressure you into. this song points out the many problems people face and why we should rebel against peer pressure and listen to our conscious so we don't die.
This connects to modern society as most people are bored or don't have much to do so they are rebelling against social norms of not drinking all day.

He would rather go out of his way to designing an elaborate plan just to get a day off of school, showing how schools essentially trap students in an endless cycle forcing them to do drastic measures. This connects to modern society as the number of home schooled students have raised thus showing the modern problems with public schooling.

If you were to wear one of these belt buckles you'd get a lot of yee haws from the southern and republican groups and a whole lot more "F you's" and "racist redneck's" from everyone else, but what they don't understand is why it's worn, its not a symbol of racism to us, its a remembrance of the hard times our country has been through, We can't just push this flag away and forget the civil war happened because eventually we could all forget and have another one, we need to remember the past so we can make better decisions for the future, and the confederate states of america are too big a part of our past to let go.

To the average person, these lyrics are vulgar and out of place but Eminem represents a real group of people and speaks for the lower class “white trash” Americans. He uses his swift word play and flow to downplay what society has turned him into and shines a joking light on the subject. -Andre DiGiacomo

It highlights the scale of the protest and how it all came together. This protest showed major rebellion against the Trump presidency, not only from women, but men, members of the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and the list goes on. It was the largest single day protest to occur in US History. Today, women all over the world still face challenges when it comes to having equal pay, access to contraception and other reproductive rights, and cultural oppression.

Banksy, the other artist made a mural speaking out against the censorship of art, especially in other countries. The use of the activist Zehra allowed this mural to become a political outcry for her release. Locking her visage behind pencils meant to look like prison bars shows that art was what got Zehra arrested not politics. (obviously this is a sarcastic remark by Banksy)
