Why this

• Because I have a personal connection to this album. An album I know well - one of the first CDs I owned

• Going down the rabbit hole finding out more about the things you used to know. I didn’t know all this context at the time. Now this is all the stuff I found out afterwards. Makes it way more interesting. 

• Parasocial relationships are a big reason fans get attached to stars - the human drama of the subsequent splintering of their group immediately after the album came out is a partially responsible for Destiny's Child fame

My Reinterpretation

• A conceptual piece that gives the real-life context of the album that includes behind-the-scenes human drama and what's to come

• conveniently mirroring the band name ("Destiny") and also the album title ("The Writing's on the Wall" aka "your fate is sealed")
