That caught my attention the most because I would not expect him to go as far as hurting an old lady's property. It wasn't like Jem just pulled out a few flowers from the garden, he "...cut the tops off every camellia bush Mrs. Dubose owned, until the ground was littered with green buds and leaves" (Lee 118). I know that Jem was not happy about continuously being told that Atticus loved n-words and neither was Scout.
