And this would also apply to moving. I was very opposed to leaving our old house, no matter how close by we were. After we finished moving into our current house, I slowly got used to it. I still miss our old house, as I had lived there my whole life, but I'm not as unhappy as I was when we first moved. When we got off the plane, we were exhausted, yet very excited for our vacation. This was my first time being out of the country, and I coudn't wait. It was a completely different environment than it is here in the US. When we went to a restaurant, I was handed a menu, and I noticed that all the food options were different. I had to try something new. My choice was spaghetti carbonara, which quickly became my favorite thing to order throughout our vacation. To get around, we didn't have a car, so we would walk everywhere. I couldn't have predicted how big a part of my life marching band would become, and how difficult it could be. It was a big challenge, because it took hours upon hours of dedication to do every part we were assigned perfectly. I was scared at first. Scared I wouldn't be able to memorize my part. Scared I wouldn't even play it correctly. Scared of performing in front of huge crowds. But I eventually got used to it, and eventually I got to love marching band.
