One of the main short-term triggers is the Great Depression where loans were taken out from Germany and the German economy simply collapsed. Hitler promised the public that he would be the one to lift them out of the depression at the expense and exploitation of the Jews. Hitler also utilised his Nazi soldiers to solidify his position and subdue any protesters.

Hitler took advantage of the resentment among German population and channeled their hate into the Jewish population through propaganda. 

Hitler did not rise to power easily in the beginning, he was initially jailed for about a year for treason and even lost an election. But later when he was elected Chancellor he slowly extended his powers until he convinced the government to grant him emergency power out of fear for a communist uprising.
