Lemurs adapt to store fat in their tails, which they can use in the winter while they hibernate.  Flying foxes, large bats, develop a strong sense of smell to recognize family members, mark territory, and hunt.  Their big wings let them fly long distances despite their large bodies.

The rainforest contains around 3,000 species of plants, like strangler figs, as well as 417 species of land animals, including the Asian Elephant and Sumatran Rhinoceros. Another group of organisms that live in the rainforest are insects which are primary consumers. Some of their adaptations are changing their colors so they look poisonous when they are really harmless. As well as the ability to camouflage themselves in order to blend in with their surroundings, so they could not be seen, and therefore not be prey for other animals.
