My name is Gilles*, and I come from Brussels, where I’ve been shaping young minds as a primary school teacher for 20 years (which means I’ve developed patience levels close to those of a Buddhist monk). I have a deep love for traveling, meeting new people, and, most importantly, exploring the Nordic countries. I’ve already checked Denmark 🇩🇰 and Sweden 🇸🇪 off my list, and I’m absolutely thrilled to finally be in Norway 🇳🇴 ! In a few weeks, my team and I will embark on an Erasmus adventure in Finland 🇫🇮, and next year, Iceland is calling 🇮🇸. Basically, if a country has saunas, fjords, snow, and long winters, I’ll probably end up there sooner or later. When I’m not in a classroom or hopping between Nordic destinations, you’ll likely find me behind a drum kit, a guitar, a bass, or any instrument that makes noise… I mean, music! 🥁🎸🪇🪘 Looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you!

I'm Margaret, and I live and work Trondheim - the third largest city in Norway! Well - in European standard it might not be huge (215 000 inhabitants) but nevertheless really nice. We have an old cathedral dating back to one of our famous viking kings, lots of cosy places to grab something to eat and we are situated just by the Trondheim fjord. I've been a teacher for almost 20 years, and besides Erasmus+ engagement, my main subjects are arts and craft and English. I do love to have the opportunity to be a part of Erasmus +, and it's been so interesting and nice to meet new people through courses abroad and hosting school staff at our school.

In my spare time I love cooking and baking, and I have a soft spot for cakes and pastries. I also have a garden I love to spend time in, and as many Norwegians I like to go skiing and hiking.

I'm Ann-Marie, or Annu to be more casual. I'm from Helsinki, Finland. I've been teaching around ten years now and currently work as a Special Needs Teacher with teenagers, so my work never gets boring. I try to balace all the action at work with baking and crafts in my freetime.

My first visit in Norway was supposed to happen at the end of March, when I'll visit Oslo, but funny enough this possibility came along and I'm really excited for it.

My name is Randi. I’m from Norway and teach French and Norwegian in Trondheim, and I have also lived many years abroad in different countries during my life. In my free time, I spend time with my family and also like to do yoga and gardening. I look forward to meeting you all and getting a lot of useful Erasmus+ information.

I had the chance to take part in the Erasmus program during my higher education, and it left me with amazing memories and valuable skills. I have a keen interest in politics, sociology, and wine.

I'm Goran. I am from Croatia. I work at Jasenovac Primary School as a librarian. I have been working on an Erasmus+ project since 2020 and this is my first international TCA. My hobby is hiking, my first and last love, and in between that is beer ;-)

I enjoy traveling, exercising, and spending time with my family and friends. I am an active person and enjoy challenges. This is my first time visiting Norway

my name is Wencke and I’m from Germany - but my heart has been shaped by more than one country! I have been teaching for 20 years (oh dear, time flies when you're having fun…), specializing in French and German. Currently, I also teach Art, history/geography, and even a bit of information technology – because why stick to just one field when you can explore them all? 

For a decade, I lived and worked as a teacher in France. Since my return to Germany in 2014, I have been teaching at a secondary school in the charming region of Münster, with students aged 10 to 16.

Outside of school, I love travelling. One of my greatest adventures was a two-month train journey across Canada from coast to coast – an experience filled with breathtaking landscapes and lovely people along the way.

Excited to take part in my first Erasmus adventure and to meet you all!

I enjoy travelling, hiking, geocaching, postcrossing, gardening, snowy winters, yoga, learning new things although my true addiction is knitting.

I coordinate our Erasmus+ project at one of the largest kindergartens in the region, attended by around 1,300 children aged 11 months to 6 years.

We focus on enhancing inclusive practices and improving communication across multiple levels to create a supportive environment for children and staff.

As part of the accreditation, we take part in job shadowing and structured courses, and in the future, we plan to organize mobility for children in the second age group.

I look forward to connecting and growing together through this Erasmus+ journey!

Our recently gained Erasmus+ accreditation allows us to develop key aspects of our school activities as we only opened as a brand new school in September 2018.

I come from a small town in eastern Croatia. I work in a secondary vocational school as an economics teacher. I have been a project coordinator since 2020. This year the school received accreditation in the field of vocational education. In addition to Erasmus+ projects, I also implement eTwinning online projects, as well as national projects in the field of tourism and vocational education. I have a family, I love to cook and bake cakes. I practice Pilates regularly, at least 3 times a week. I also love to travel, so when my obligations allow, I travel with my sister and cousin.

My name is Aimée and I’m from Norway. I work at Vestby High School with 750 students, about 30 mins south of Oslo.

I am the Head of Language and Social Science Dep. I have 20 years of experience teaching Psychology, various Social Science subjects, History and English.

My name is Pauli Raivio and I come from Helsinki, Finland. I work at Helsingin Maalariammattikoulu, which is a small specialized vocational school. Our students become professionals in painting, floor covering, interior design, and building and restoration. My primary role is teaching social studies, digital studies, and sports. I also have many other responsibilities, including the newest one, the role of Erasmus+ coordinator at our school. I am very excited about that!

My name is Lene, and I am the international coordinator at a school for young people aged 15 to 25. The school provides preparatory basic education for students who need more time to prepare for jobs or education, primarily VET (Vocational Education and Training).

I have experienced the touch of pedagogy as a preschool teacher, a deputy, and now as the headmaster of preschool “Zīlīte”. Currently, I work as a student coordinator at the University of Latvia.

Various projects (erasmus+, nordplus and...) allow me to see the world in a colorful, interactive, and diverse way, so I see them as a huge resource for my team.

I take time for myself through reading, berry picking, massage, sauna, sunbathing, volleyball, caning; I love singing, making flower crowns, being by the water, swimming, being in and with nature, and doing crazy things. These activities shape my personality and also serve as a means of organizing and participating in various extracurricular activities with family, friends, and work colleagues.

My name is Mari Bræck. I’m from Norway and I teach in Oslo at an upper secondary school near the city center. I teach French, social studies and politics and human rights. This year I have been appointed Erasmus coordinator at our school.

I have lived abroad for some years in Morocco, France and Tanzania. In my spear time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, reading, skiing, jogging and spending time outdoors. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about the Erasmus program.  

In my daily work, I focus on finding ways to help students overcome barriers to learning. Technology sometime plays a key role in this, whether it’s alternative communication methods, assistive devices, or interactive tools that make education more accessible. I strongly believe that today we can do more than yesterday, and tomorrow we will be able to do even more.

I have several years of experience as an Erasmus+ project coordinator, but only since 2024 our school have we had the opportunity to use the benefits of Easmus+ acreditation.We highly appreciate the opportunities that Erasmus+ provides, both for strengthening my school’s capacity and for expanding my own professional experience. Learning from colleagues across Europe, exchanging ideas, and seeing different approaches to special education is truly inspiring.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, renovating and improving my home, and working in my greenhouse. Play football with my grandsons. I also love swimming and have taken swiming in various seas and oceans—so why not in Norwegian fjords? I look forward to this experience and to meeting all of you!

We've been lucky to take part in a few Erasmus mobilities before getting accredited this year. The school is looking forward to expanding the mobility possibilities. I can't wait to get to know you all and discover new cultures, new regions, and countries. I've never been to Norway, that'll be a first.

On the personal side, I'm a big basketball fan and I love hiking, too. I'm also a bit of a beer geek (I guess cliches about Belgium can be true sometimes).

I’m Sari Maaniittu and I come from Imatra, Finland. Our school is a co-educational upper secondary school of approx. 400 students. Hello everyone, my name is Hilde Bakken, and I’m from Kongsberg, Norway. I am the Head of School at Kongsberg International School, a small school that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) to primary and secondary students. I’m passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for our students and look forward to meeting you all in Øystese!

Vinstra is located in the middle of Gudbrandsdalen, just between two of Norways national parks; Jotunheimen and Rondane. We usually say we survive on fresh air and beautiful views! :-)

I have just become the coordinator for our schools international work, and am totally new to this role! My name is Joanna and I come from Poland. I have been an English teacher for 20 years, I work with teenagers and young adults in a secondary school in Piaseczno, a town near Warsaw. I love my work, I love the contact with my students, it is great to see how they change, develop. Before becoming a teacher I was working as a rep for various travel agencies where I could pursue my passion for travelling. I spent a lot of time in Greece and Spain. My hobbies, besides travelling, are learning foreign languages and reading.  I became an Erasmus Plus coordinator in our school last year and I am happy  to  see that this function allows me to combine my passions with my duties.

Another passion of mine is the fine arts, especially music, including collecting various sound carriers (mainly vinyl records and CDs), also all types of art, incl all meaningful movies. I was raised with Tarkovski and Fellini movies (was 8 and 10 years old when first watched 8½ and Stalker) in my childhood but all other important directors are important for me from Kurosawa to Pasolini, from Lynch to Antognioni, Fassbinder to Herzog etc. I used to be Bianconeri and Azzurri ultra in past times but past times are in past although I cannot take them out of my heart of course and still remember Heysel 1985...one of the sadest stories of my life. I also enjoy relaxing and doing nothing, though unfortunately, there has been little time for that lately. Fjörd swimming can be done :). In my own life I try to live as green as possible but not always cope with it (still travelling and eating meat and using AI). I am not a typical Estonian :) as I do not drink, drive and eat mushrooms :) + do not like saunas. I love nature and animals (in my life there have been lot of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and lot of other domestic animals, all horses saved from birth machinery and dogs from shelters etc). I support natural horsemenship. I believe that some day, may be not in our life, equestrian sport will be outlawed and our grandchildren will try to forget this shameful fact of man’s biography like we do now with bullfighting and gladiator fighting. They would burn with shame thinking of this practice of the past as we are ashamed now thinking of slavery and concentration camps.

I sincerely hope to find exciting, friendly, competent, and motivated partners among you, with whom we can purposefully create something truly impactful for our students, teachers, and schools. Don't hesitate to ask, we always find the answers. There are no problems but only solutions :)!

My name is Ann-Elin, and I work at Noroff Vocational School in Norway, a school that offers higher vocational education. Our programs align with level 5.1 and 5.2 of the European Qualifications Framework. We have approximately 3600 students, with the majority studying online.

What to bring? A small towel to stand on, a big towel to dry yourself and change, and a set of dry underwear.

What do I recommend? Change into your swimwear in your room, put your clothes back on, and dress warmly with a coat/jacket, hat, gloves, and shoes. Bring your towels and dry underwear with you.

Prerequisite: None. No need to know how to swim. It will be cold, but you will survive—and you’ll be wide awake for the afternoon session!
