Dearest Mathilde,

I believe, in life, money isn't everything. Despite the belief that Money CAN by happiness, which I find true sometimes, it's not always the case. Family cannot be bought. Relationships cannot be bought (unless it's business). Let us enjoy life as is. Avoid being too materialistic in certain things. Avoid caring too much about what other people would think. :)

You have to face it, Mathilde, you made mistakes that led up to your current situation. Mistakes on your dissatisfaction of your former economic status, so much so that when your husband, Monsieur Loisel, did his best to appease your lavish wants and you unfortunately lost it, your life went downhill. It goes to show that you should be satisfied with things as they are, although it is not bad to dream about getting more as growth is a part of our lives. Just remember now that not everything needs to be 24 karat gold or premium clothing from across the world. As long as you learn from your mistakes, you'll live a life that you might finally appreciate 🙏✨🥰

We don't need to show off everything we own, as well as the things we DON'T own. What matters is that you're happy. Being happy is as priceless as anything anyone could possibly own. Being happy and contented with your life is already something we can show off. We should just appreciate what we have and live life without worrying about what others will think of us. Because at the end of the day, it's our life. We live it as much as we want, we choose who we want to be with, we choose what makes us happy. sincerely lovely :)

Dear Mathilde Loisel,

I've heard about your experience with the necklace and I would like to offer some kind advice. First and foremost, be honest to yourself; being real is preferable to pretending to be someone you are not. Second, appreciate what you have; pleasure does not come from luxury, but from being satisfied with your life. If I may advise, you should have told Madame Forestier the truth regarding the necklace. It would have avoided you years of hardship. Finally, remember that material possessions do not define us; our actions and character do. Perhaps your story could have ended better if you had focused on what truly important. :P

Not everyone possesses the things that you have. Contentment also brings oneself ease and enhances relationships with others. Also, when you are honest or contented with your possessions or materials, you may avoid a sense of pressure to attain unreasonable expectations. It is true that to some people, owning luxury materials makes life better and more exciting. However, real treasures that when found true are forever, like relationships, love, and genuine happiness are far more rewarding and I believe they make life more deep and meaningful. This real treasure cannot be replaced. So, as a friend, I think you should prioritize being grateful and showing your appreciation to your life’s real treasures.
