When I go on holiday I often try to learn the language in order to understand people.This helps in tough situations which need group understanding.Speaking to new people is exciting and I enjoy to learn about the cultures and way of living.Including learning about new places etc.

I have just recently started college which is challenging for some people to meet new friends and be in different surroundings.However I have adapted well and spoke to new people meaning I have made new friends and practiced teamwork in lessons etc.

When meeting new people on the first few days at college we did a team building exercise which we made a chair out of balloons. We had to use teamwork and communication skills whilst doing this. We had to stick the balloons together and make sure it was okay to sit on.

During tutorial I made a team quilt with my class. Whilst doing this task we had to work together to make sure the quilt didn’t rip apart. We all worked efficiently to make end an end product. Next time I will make an effort to make sure everyone’s included.

For our cabin crew assessment we had to use team working skills to ensure our scripts were to the best of our ability. Then we had to practice with each other and support everyone as a team giving any feedback to each other. In the end, because of perseverance and teamwork skills we all passed with flying colours.

I am motivated to come everyday to college to see my I really enjoy my course and get on with my tutors which inspires me to get a job in tourism. It's great to have a support system alongside college and do new things.

I gain work experience when i'm teaching for my mum in her dance school. This is a part-time job involving administrating, teaching and dealing with parents face-to-face. I enjoy this and feel productive when working feeling like i'm doing my part helping kids do what they love.

I have volunteered by raising money for Bluebell Charity. I did this by going to the charity event and helping bag pack for customers in supermarkets such as Tesco and Morrisons. This was unpaid and it was a good experience for me.

Me and my friends participated in a Bake Sale for charity. We met up outside of college to bake treats in order to bring them in and to sell them to raise money. This is an act of kindness. The skills I got from this bake sale are confidence, communication skills and sales techniques.

I am reliable in my part-time job. This means my employer can rely on me to be punctual (on time). It allows me to be able to pick up more hours and cover people as i am trusted to be there and work hard.

When challenged with hard tasks e.g - handing assignments in on time to the best of my ability. I have shown resilience by not giving up and still getting decent grades in my assignments. It is so easy to give up and I have pushed through swiftly.

Juggling being at college and meeting deadlines whilst having dance, this can prove difficult. However the annual dance show has been stressful I have continued to get on with my college work and learn dances. This has shown resilience as this can be both mentally and physically overwhelming.

When at college, work and dance. Finding the motivation to do to the gym and to stay consistent can be hard especially when life's hardships take over. However I have been resilient by going everyday and carrying on. This way I can track progress until the summer.

Instead of getting taken to college I have been more aware of my carbon footprint and have started taking the bus and walking to college. This reduces emissions and also keeps me fit and healthy promoting using less emissions.

Security checks

To prepare me for the industry, we did an assessment in the fake aircraft we have. Doing security checks on a fake aircraft at college has given me hands-on experience with the kind of detailed and precise work that's essential in the travel industry. It has taught me the importance of safety protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict procedures—all of which are crucial skills for ensuring passenger safety and smooth operations in any travel-related role. Before the assessment, in my opinion we had little guidance and preparation towards this. This made me stress and feel uneasy going into the assessment. The objective of the assessment sounded simple, but under time pressure the task was proven difficult. We completed the assignment in groups of 4/5 and had to work together in order to find 6 hazardous items that would cause the plane to be delayed and/or affect the safety of everyone on board. During this assessment I frantically moved around the cabin checking everywhere possible aware of the two-minute timer ticking- I was anxious and ultimately this took over and I panicked. Jess tried to update us with how long we had left but this was a blur as my peers, and I were still frantically moving around the cabin. We managed to even find things that the tutor didn’t even know was on-board and only ended up finding half of the items planted. We even missed a bomb which would be a major safety hazard. By the end of the assessment, I was disappointed in myself as we failed as a whole. Even though we will have the chance to retake it in around April time. This still sets us back and to pass we need to be more knowledgeable on what the assessment entails and prepare thoroughly.
