Strengths: Our programmes are visible. We acknowledge the students' achievements (i.e. good writers).

Opportunities: We have many veteran teachers whom we can tap on for resources, knowledge and experience. Students are given lots of opportunities to showcase their talents -i.e. Book club, Morning Buzz, Podcast. Would be good to have a one stop resource bank for the different skills for the language.

Aspirations: More emphasis should be given to reading (i.e.morning silent reading time, teacher to read to students, sustained silent reading, SLs and KPs to read to students).Students should be exposed to different print types and genres, especially for the HP pupils.

Results: Students can keep track of their results for areas such as spelling, compo, SW and oral practice so that they can monitor their own progress. This can encourage self-directed learning.

Strengths:
Mentors are always readily available and the department members chip in with their suggestions and ideas/ contribution willingly. Being holistic learners that quickly adapt to linguistic demands/ trends but remain rooted in the beauty of tradition and code switch effectively (I.e. knowing the difference between e-girl and virtual representation and when to use these terms interchangeably). More activities that mask drills and practice/ interweave drill and practice into fun routines. Explore and adapt new pedagogies/ success stories into our teaching practice. Allow students to share their thoughts about the lessons and how we as their facilitators could help their navigation through the linguistic world.

Results:

Grades and genuine enjoyment of the lessons.
