It took me 31 years to even begin attending college, but in September, I graduated with highest honors! I wanted to thank my parents for being so supportive of me being a first-generation student. It's adorable how excited and proud they are of me! Also, I wanted to thank my professors for helping me every step of the way. All of them were so gracious, kind, and engaged with their students! These last three years has challenged my faith in God, mental health, perseverance to believe in myself. I experienced a lot of loss in my life during this time losing a mother and son 30 days apart, and my own near death experience from being hospitalized from Covid. I only can thank God it’s the only way that I made it. Therefore, I dedicate my degree and honor of my mother instead of giving up an idea what she wanted me to do to finish what I started. I am a business woman already 30-years into my career, a wife and a mother of 2 teenage daughters. Purdue Global helped me to fulfill one of my dreams of a college degree but also taught me so much more about myself!
To work very full-time while parenting can be a struggle enough but PGU made it easy to schedule classes and coordinate work and life to create some sort of balance.
Now that this chapter is closed, I have decided to move on to my Masters. Here I go again, “Boiler Up, Hammer Down!”
