My School-From-Home Workbook! (Day 21 - Wednesday, May 6th, 2020) by Mark Giraldi

I will be sending a new one of these each school morning to your parent's e-mail! It'll contain all of our schoolwork for the day. Any assignment submissions can be turned in through our class site (Edmodo). You should aim for one hour of schoolwork each school day! Don't forget about Ms. Garbett's weekly French work (posted on her Brightspace site), which you can access through your BYOD page (https://byod.peelschools.org/), and Mr. Bieman's Music page, which you can access through Google Classrooms (https://classroom.google.com/).

Now that we've modeled how to research and write a report, we're going to each be choosing an animal (or monster from fantasy) to research. You can use our collection of books linked below (a Google Drive collection of books and an assigned collection of books in our Epic library) or resources available at your residence! You'll be submitting a research brainstorm (modeled below) before Monday, May 11th (when we start our rough copy). Your research brainstorm can be created in a variety of ways (I've made one on Padlet for an example) and turned in on Edmodo!

Your research brainstorm will need...
- 20 facts
- A title bubble
- A sources list (where you got your information, which includes, title, author, and publisher); including 2 or more sources
- A picture/sketch of your research topic, including a title and 4 or more labels

If you'd like to pick an animal or fantasy monster/creature not on the list below, write Mr. Giraldi and have resources (like books from home) available!

I've begun to do some research on Mokele-Mbembe (a fantasy monster/creature), and you can see my notes here! So far I have one source (good, but not yet the 2 sources you'll need) and 10 facts with pictures (good, but not yet the 20 facts you'll need), along with a hook/interest statement for his eventual good copy!
