-Domestic Violence involves the violent confrontation between family members or members of the same household that involves physical or mental harm.
-A victim of domestic violence may react by isolating themselves from other family members and from social interaction in general. They may also engage in drinking and doing drugs as a way to ease the pain of the domestic abuse they encounter.
-Signs/symptoms indicative of domestic violence include emotional instability, acting out in a negative manner, and depression. In addition, one may also exhibit low-self esteem
-One of the greatest ways to assist a victim of domestic violence is understanding the warning signs of abuse. Showing a victim of abuse love and compassion in their difficult situation is also a great way to exhibit support. Although it may seem like the opposite of assistance, not pressuring a victim to escape their home/situation is key as well. This will only add stress and anxiety to their already complicated dilemma.
-An example of domestic violence is sexual assault by a family member.

-Child abuse involves a physical or mental form of violence inflicted upon a child.
-A victim of child abuse may react by participating in violent or harmful activities. This includes doing drugs or drinking, and behaving badly in social situations, like in school. They may also begin to isolate themselves from the world.
-Signs/symptoms indicative of child abuse include physical marks, such as bruises and cuts. Mental signs include a change in behavior, such as increased aggression or sadness. A child who consistently talks about themselves in a negative manner may also be a victim of child abuse.
-Some ways to support child abuse victims include positive reinforcement and showing the child that they are valued. In addition, one could support a child from removing them from an abuse situation, such as contacting a social worker or the Department of Child Protective Services.
-An example of child abuse is physical neglect, such as a parent not feeding their child.

Elder Abuse

-Elder abuse involves the mental or physical mistreatment of a senior citizen.
-A victim of elder abuse may react fearfully, and close themselves off from the people that love and care about them to protect themselves and their loved ones. In addition, a senior citizen may adopt a cold attitude towards everyone and exhibit signs of depressive behavior, such as emotional instability.
-Signs/symptoms indicative of elder abuse include unexplained physical markings such as cuts and bruises, as well as more serious injuries such as broken bones. In addition, if a caregiver refuses to allow the elderly patient alone, this is an indicator of abuse.
-Some ways to support elder abuse victims include getting them involved in therapy in order to discuss their issues rather than avoiding them. This will ultimately make it easier to move on from the abuse they endure/endured. In addition, showering a victim with love and affection and demonstrating the fact that they are important is a key support system.
-An example of elder abuse is a caregiver giving an elderly person more medication than prescribed by a doctor in order to make them less aware of their situation/confused so that the caregiver can take advantage of them.
