•Pigment provides the color. 

•Gum Arabic is a binder that dissolves easily in water. 

•Additives like glycerin, ox gall, and honey adjust the thickness and hide the durability or color of the pigment. 

•Water dissolves or suspends all the ingredients, carries them onto the paper, and evaporates when the painting is complete.


The root of the flower can suck water, nutrients, and sugar; the flower uses its stem to store and move water, nutrients, and sugar.

In the second trial for the five days, we can see that the plain water flowers are always a little higher than the colored water flowers every day (except the first day). In the third trial for the five days, we can see that the plain water flowers are always higher than the colored water flowers every day (except the first day). Most of the time, all the flowers grew. But in the end, some of the colored water flowers wither.

The result supports my hypothesis because the plain water flower grew higher than the colored water flower in all three trails. Also, the results told me that chemicals in watercolor can cause flowers to wither.
