The snowball activity is a great assessment that can be used in many forms. In the activity, the teacher may ask the students a particular question that relates to the lesson, or the teacher may ask the students to think about something important they learned and what they are still confused about. The students have to respond to the question(s) by writing down their answer(s) on a piece of paper. Once the students have written their response(s), they will crumble up the piece of paper and throw it carefully to the front of the class. The Snowball Activity is a great source that can give great feedback from each student. Their responses will allow the teacher to understand the strengths and weaknesses. The activity can inform the teacher on the areas of content they need to spend more time on discussing, so the students have a better understanding.

Kahoot is an engaging and informative activity that students love. Kahoot is an online activity that allows teachers to create questions to help students review what they have been learning. The teacher can provide several questions that can be multiple choice or short answer. Each multiple choice question contains four answers, and the students have to choose the answer they think is correct by matching the shape and color from their tablets or computers. The students have a few seconds to choose the correct answer. Once the time is up, the game will show the correct answer. The students can play Kahoot at home or in class. This is a great formative assessment because the teacher can observe the questions students are having trouble with. This will allow the teacher to clarify and go in depth, so the students have a better understanding of the key concepts.

The K.W.L. Chart is a very popular assessment because it provides the important questions to always ask the students before beginning a lesson. The K stands for what I already know. When the teacher introduces the topic, they will ask the students what they already know about the topic and write it down on the chart paper. The W stands for what I want to know. Before starting the lesson, the teacher will ask the students what they want to learn during the lesson. The L stands for what I have learned. The last section is discussed after the lesson and activities. It can contribute to the closure. Students can receive a sticky note and write an important fact they learned. The K.W.L. Chart is a great activity that activates prior knowledge and introduces new information the students will learn about.

Think-Pair-Share is a great collaborative strategy that allows students to critically think and share their ideas. In the activity, the teacher asks a question, and the students individually have a few minutes to think about the question. The students then pair up and share their ideas. The strategy is great to get the students to share their ideas and gain new information from their classmates.

Discussion Post is a strategy where students share their thoughts and opinions with their teacher(s) and classmates. In the discussion post, the teacher creates a discussion thread and asks questions. Each student has to create a discussion post and answer the following question(s). Once the students have finished their discussion, they can read each other's posts and respond to one. The strategy is very informative because the students share their thoughts and learn from their peers.

Jeopardy is a fun way of learning and reviewing content information. In this activity, there are five questions for every category. The harder the question, the more points it is worth. The students get into groups and work together. The activity allows students to collaborate and share their knowledge about each topic with their peers. The activity is great for reviewing and helping students learn or understand a certain topic they were having confusion with. Jeopardy includes multiple choice, true/false, and short answer questions. Once the game is over, each group will count their points, and the group with the highest score wins the game.

Ticket-Out-the-Door is an essential strategy that is given at the end of a lesson. The teacher can manage the assessment in many forms. One way of assessing students is like the ticket-out-the-door worksheet shown below. Each student has to write down three things they learned, two things they liked, and one question they have based on the topic they learned about that day. The activity is a great source that can help teachers understand what each student learned, and what area of the lesson they are still questioning and not understanding.

A quiz is a popular formative assessment used by teachers. It consists of true/false, fill in the blank, multiple choice, matching, and short answer questions. A quiz assess students on how well they know the content. A quiz allows the teacher to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the students knowledge of the content.

A true/false assessment is a strategy that contains statements. The students have to carefully read each statement and decide whether it is correct or not. If the statement is correct, the students write down true. If the statement is not correct, then the statement is false. The assessment can be used in all subjects. The true/false assessment measures the students ability to logically think whether each statement is true or false.

Quizizz can be played during class or at home, but devices such as computers, tablets, or smartphones must be provided. Once the students enter the game pin, the questions will pop-up on their screens. The students have a few seconds to complete each question. If Quizizz is being played during class, it will automatically shuffle the questions for every student. After each question is answered, it will show the player whether they got the question right or wrong. The scores are available for the students and the teachers.
