FUENTE CAPUTA, A FANTASTIC PARADISE

This is Fuente Caputa, it´s a combination of natural swimming pools in the heart of Murcia. It´s located in Mula.
It has an eassy access by car although I recommend that you practice hiking along the watercourse for visiting the rest of natural pools with crystal clear water. Furthemore, you can swim in them in summer too and know the biodiversity of the area.
In addition, in winter, the level of water increases and you can see small waterfalls and frozen water due to low temperature.
So, come on!! Don´t wait more and go!

SAO MIGUEL, THE GREEN ISLAND.

Due to my job, I've had the opportunity to travel abroad, a bit more than I would have liked. I have visited many places but there is a special one I fondly remember, Sao Miguel Island in Azores Islands.

I got there after a sea journey what gave me the chance to gaze out several of the Azores islands archipelago. Sao Miguel is the biggest and more populated of these islands, also known as “Green Islands” and it is easy to know why, the complete island is a breathtaking lush landscape after another.

The first day I visited the lake of fire, a volcanic crater where water has created a lake where the blue water shows a huge contrast with the lush greenery mountains, as it is shown in the picture I got done.

In spite it was drizzling, the second day I took a bath in a hot spring. It was a bit crowded but it deserved the time I spent there. After the bath, I visited a small village called “Furnas” famous due to its “Cocido das Furnas”, a typical Portuguese stew-type dish which it is cooked in the geysers.

The last day I remained in Ponta Delgada, the capital of the island. I visited a botanic garden with hundreds of botanic species like bamboo and tropical flowers like orchid. Bamboo was a bit stunning for me due to I’m used to see cane from Murcia which has 2 o 3 cm diameter and the one I saw there, had nearly 30 cm diameter. Before going back onboard, I went shopping and bought maracuja, pineapple, cheese, tee, Cinnamon liquor and a few gifts for my family.

I’m not sure it was the peaceful atmosphere, the lush nature, the warm weather or maybe all together, but the true is I enjoyed the three days I spent there and I decided to come back in a few years with my wife. If you like nature, food and good weather don’t doubt, Sao Miguel is a worth visiting.

Aledo

Aledo is a small but gorgeous village. When you visit it, you can enjoy their astonishing views, their tasty home-made bread and the kindness of its people. I usually go to Aledo once or twice a year, especially in summer. There is a magical night in August called “la Noche en Vela”. That night, Aledo is just lightened by candles. Neibourghs decorate their house with candlelights and some people play different instruments.

But what I love is “El estrecho de la Arboleja” It is an incredible hiking route starting from Aledo. It’s about 10km long and you can enjoy it with your family and friends, considering that it's not very challenging. It is a narrow path with high rock in both sides, thus makes the place breathtaking. What strikes me is that the place is unspoilt, it’s immaculate. I usually go there when I need to disconect and escape from the bustling city. This place makes me feel chilled out.
