Even though he was a genius at his craft, he is part of the minority group that gets racially profiled. Most people would look past his layer of skin, and admire the music he has made for us within just 12 years! There was something unique about the way he played his instrument because it surpassed a lot of the "greatest" at the time, and the way he spoke. But we should also look at the problems he had as a black minority. He was living in a time when black people still weren't accepted when the Civil Rights law passed.
Even if he was very popular in the rock-n-roll scene, he wouldn't get accepted into certain buildings or bathrooms just because of his skin.
He used his platform to speak against war, racism, and inequality. I am proud of him for acquiring an Oscars for Best Supporting Actor. We all remember when he first started as a little boy that starred in Indiana Jones and Goonies. We never got to see him as much because of the missed opportunities that Hollywood could've given to him. He quit acting, started doing movies and stunts of his own. But when Crazy Rich Asians (2018) came to theaters and was a huge talk, he believed he could do it again with the movie being a success (worldwide wise not box office). And he did, with Everything Everywhere All at Once! He started getting recognition, got nominations and even won awards for the movie. Now he's about to start in a big Hollywood movie studio known as Marvel.
