This video explains about the pros and cons of whether to apply for Canadian student loans. Many students just go right into applying for the student loan without knowing what they’re getting into. Watching this video will help you decide whether if it’s better to apply for the student loan or to ask parents to cover for it or to work part-time and cover the expenses. It also talks about student bursary and scholarship. If you have the requirements to meet the bursary or scholarship, that’s free money for you. I chose this video because it helps to decide and to weigh in every factor before applying for the student loan.

This website explains about whether having a student loan is good or bad especially when the situations have changed due to covid-19. This website gets into details about how a student loan can impact your future investments in a good and bad way. I chose this website because now that situations have changed many students might benefit from reading this link. There’s a lot of new information out there and many students are not aware of it. This source talks about how it impacts your mortgage, auto loans, credit report, and any other loan you apply in the future.

This website is about how to apply for OSAP. In this source you could find information on when to apply, how to apply, list of documents you mind need to apply, how to find your financial aid office. I chose this website because it can be beneficial to students who are new to all of this. I had an older sibling to help me go through all of this, but there are many students out there, who are the first child and might not have the help to guide them through the whole OSAP application. This link is very easy to follow through and can help those students who are lost.

This website explains about other ways to find money to cover for post-secondary schools. Apart from OSAP there are other ways like grants, scholarships, and bursaries. This website also helps you find these sources based on what schools you are going to and gives information on what are the requirements. I chose this website because it is very informational like it explains about each source and how they work. Based on the school, it tells you how you could find, what you need in order to qualify. This can help students that can’t qualify for OSAP, students who are not getting enough OSAP or even if students need the extra cash.

This website has information on how students can repay back OSAP. It explains about how the whole repayment system works, what happens if you don’t pay back and declare bankruptcy. To avoid students from declaring bankruptcy they are offering assistance so that students can repay on their terms. I chose this website because it can be beneficial to students who aren’t aware of how repayment works and so that students can know where to go to get assistance, to avoid them from declaring bankruptcy at a young age. This way it can allow students also to save on the side for future investments and not having to put their full pay cheque to repaying the loan only.

This video explains about a strategy which could help a student to pay off the student loan faster. In this video, the person explains about different ways a student can pay off the student loan, what loan to pay off first and which strategy worked best for them. I chose this video because hearing from someone else’s prospect about their personal experience could give an idea to the student on how to go about paying off the student loan faster and it can give the student assurance that the strategy might work.

This video talks about why students should pay off student loans before investing. I chose this video because many students might have the money to pay off but choosing not to, but by paying the student loan off you avoid paying more interest and you will be one down from being debt free. Also, down the road it will make it easier for you to save for a down payment on a house or something else you have in mind. Having a student loan can increase your debt-to-income ratio, which can affect your chances of qualifying for future loans or possibly getting a better interest rate.

This video talks about the struggles many Canadian students go through to pay off their student loans. I chose this video because many students might feel overwhelmed in paying off their student loans and watching video will make them feel like they’re not in this alone. If a student does feel like they are one of those Canadians that may struggle to pay off their loan, watching this video can help them to strategize to plan and budget properly so that they don’t feel overwhelmed.
