Yes the characters grew and changed over time, in Junkyard Wonders, the characters had to overcome their fear of slow learning.Also Florette had to overcome her fear of moving to a less natural environment. In both stories the characters had to ignore the negative and find their positive.I want to learn to be a better skier. 

In Junkyard Wonders the main character thinks she is not smart because she in a special class but she soon finds out that everyone is smart in their own way. The girl showed growth mindset by learning that everyone is unique in their special way even if they are not smart in one specific way. In the book Florette when Mae’s family moves into the city Mae felt like there was nothing special in the city but she learns by making a garden in her backyard. Mae shows growth mindset by thinking about the positive when everything feels wrong. One place I think I have used growth mindset in is getting better a long multiplication.

because she and her friends worked up to each of their potential and each one of friends realized over time that in everyone a genius is hidden in different ways.  They also realized that having a growth mindset is a big advantage so each character excelled at their career. Also in the book Florette She was sad at the beginning and longed for her garden in the country but soon, she performed a growth mindset and that led her to have lots of ability so she realized She could start her own garden. In both of these books the main characters they ignored the negativity and the disadvantages and to look at the positivity. My personal achievement would be to become an accomplished pianist. In order to work up to this goal I would practice at home and commit . I think that growth mindset is a massive advantage to everybody.  

Yes the character grew and changed over time, in Junkyard Wonders the main character had to have a growth mindset and move to a new place and leave all her friends and make new ones. They thought they were  dumb but the teacher said that they were all geniuses.

Also in Florette she moved from the country to the city and she wanted to bring her garden with her and she had to make her own garden.

In both stories they had to ignore the the negative and find the positive.

I want to draw with more detail I am gonna practice and be committed to my work and I hope I can have a growth mindset. By taking the risk to grow I change in a positive way. I'll be a better artist.  

In the past few days our class has been talking about these two books that have main characters who show growth mindset. 

Our first book we read is called Junkyard Wonders.

In this book the main character is a very late reader and is put in an special class that is later named the “Junkyard Wonders.” The main character thinks she is not smart and is different and special. Later in the story she makes new friends and begins to feel confident about school. She has showed growth mindset by changing her thoughts into more positive ideas. Her and her friends invent an airplane and launch it over the school for the science fair! She begins to realize and feel like she's smart and it's ok to be unique!

The next book is called Florette. The main character in this story had just moved from the country to a city. The main character misses her friends and her garden A LOT!! One day she sees a red bird and decided to follow it. The bird disappears into a indoor flower shop called Florette. She sees a little flower bud and picks it and cups it in her hands. She brings it home and cherishes it until it was full grown. In the end she started a garden in there neighborhood and makes new friends.

In comparison these two main characters start off feeling negative about things. Later in these two stories the main characters find friends who will comfort them and they also soon find something to hope for… something they can hold on to… something that boosts there confident. That beautiful something is friendship. 

How I could show growth mindset is practicing my math facts to get fluent and faster at them so I now them for middle school. It will be useful.

In Florette a girl moves to a new city. The girl is sad because she has to leave her friends. Then she finds a pretty bluebird. She follows the bird. The bird leads the bird to a flower shop. She loves nature so she took a sprout with her. Then she goes home and makes a garden. The little girl is happy that she has a garden now. She overcomes negative feeling.

I would like to achieve a goal that is learning how to ski well. I will learn to ski by commit to skiing by practicing and trying my best at skiing. I really hope this year i will learn how to ski. I will try my best to learn to ski!

Both characters changed. Patricia in Junkyard Wonders was sad and she changed by embracing new friends and embracing her artwork. Even though reading was hard for her, she eventually became an artist and published author. In comparison Mae was sad because she left her garden and she embraced herself by following a  bluebird and found a sprout of garden and brought it home and made a garten. I can embrace growth mindset by working on being kind and making friends.

Yes, both characters changed. Patricia was sad because she was in a special class and she was left out. She changed by accepting who she was and embracing new friendships in class. Her “tribe” in class was kind of a group of “misfits” but in reality they were all really smart in unique ways. They even repaired a model airplane to fly high. 

In comparison, Mae was sad she had to leave her country house and move to the city. She was sad becase she missed her garden. When she was walking in the city she found a apple tree bird she fallowed it to a flower shop. Then she found a small green sprout.she took the sprout home and watered it and made a new garden.😀😊
