Symere Bysil Woods, who now goes by "they/them," and also better known as "Lil Uzi Vert" was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 31 of 1995. Symere began rapping in 2010, calling themselves "Sealab Vertical." They were inspired by artists such as ASAP Rocky, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Wiz Khalifa. Symere eventually changed their name to "Lil Uzi Vert" because someone said their rap flow was like a machine gun. Uzi blew up in 2016, with two songs "Money Longer" and "You Was Right" reached the "Billboard Hot 100" then the album "Lil Uzi vs. The World" made it to the Top 50 of "Billboard 200." They collaborated with Migos in 2017, making "Bad and Boujee" and that song ended up being their highest charting single. After, they continued to release more music such as "Luv is Rage 2" being another album that they released in 2017. Uzi dropped the album, "Pink Tape" on June 30, 2023 reaching #1 on "Billboard 200" album charts on July 15th.

Lil Uzi Vert has inspired me since I was in 7th grade, maybe even 6th. I was always into "SoundCloud rappers" and artists in the underground rap industry. I discovered Lil Uzi Vert's music through one of their most popular songs, "Money Longer." I adored this song and began to explore more music by them. I started listening to their album "Lil Uzi Vert vs The World." I would constantly play their music for my friends but they were more into pop. I personally think Lil Uzi is adorable, not as in my type of man but they're not afraid to be themselves and don't try to be as hard and nonchalant as most rappers nowadays are. I'm also not into the whole gender debate thing, but I like the fact that they go by "they/them" because it shows their self expression. I currently still listen to Lil Uzi regularly. I also think they have a great stage presence at their concerts.

The lyrics from the song "Nuyork Nights" mean a lot to me because, with all respect, my exes are fans of me. Even ex friends I have. They act like they hate me but watch my entire life from the sidelines. Or they try to involve themselves in my life. The lyrics from "XO Tour Life" mean a lot to me because I can relate to having a toxic, abusive relationship and can relate to most of the lyrics in the song.

Lil Uzi Vert's style is slightly different from other rappers like them. They claim that they "bought everything in the men's section," so they have no problem with wearing a woman's blouse or purse. Not much is known about their fashion, considering they are their own stylist. Lil Uzi favors OFF-White and Louis Vuitton. They like to incorperate colors in their outfits and sometimes a lot of accessories. They do prefer the more expensive lifestyle of fashion, but they still look good in regular clothes too.

They moved to Atlanta to join other rappers such as Lil Yachty and Playboi Carti. Those two rappers originated from Atlanta, along with plenty of other popular rappers. When Uzi collided with them, everyone was on a come up. They have also lived in New York City. New York City is the nation's second most popular city. More popular rappers have come from New York, such as Nicki Minaj, who Lil Uzi has collaborated with on multiple songs. Everywhere they have lived, they have made an impact with their music.

Lil Uzi Vert takes his biggest inspiration from Marilyn Manson. Their second biggest inspiration is Paramore. They enjoy the punk rock side of music more than anything. Kanye West was another artist that inspired Uzi's music. Their fans consider the list of artists that inspired him "too long." Lil Uzi is surprisingly also inspired by Rob Zombie. Most of their songs are inspired by their situations involving ex girlfriends and friends around them. In some of their other songs, they refer to their drug addiction and party lifestyle and the pros and cons of it. Lil Uzi doesn't get too personal in their songs besides maybe three. One personal thing they talk about is how they want to escape fame or clap back at people who talk about him.
