         <description><![CDATA[<div>-King Leopold II: King Leopold II of Belgium had a great desire to rule a large country with great power and once he obtained a large portion of Africa other countries wanted to rule Africa to <br>-Natural Resources: Once explorers learned that there were many natural resources in Africa such as diamonds, sugar, salt, <strong>gold</strong>, iron, cobalt, <strong>copper</strong>, silver, and petroleum many European countries made colonies in Africa hoping to get there hands on these materials <br>-Location: Many countries new that the vast cost line of Africa was the perfect place to put navy and trading ports so militarizes and businesses flocked to Africa to fing space on the cost. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The scramble for Africa was when in 1881 through 1914 many European countries like Britain, France, Belgium, Germany Italy, and Portugal rushed to conquer land in Africa. The scramble was started when King Leopold II of Belgium herd of the explorer Henry Morton Stanley and his exploration of the Congo river when King Leopold herd of this he thought it was his change to rule a large country so he claimed land in Africa by hiring Stanley. This made other countries want land in Africa kicking off the scramble for Africa. </div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Impacts of the scramble for Africa</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-African languages were replaced because of the colonizers being, well, colonizers, replaced the African languages with the colonizer's language. This caused the Africans to learn a new language and not be able to make money if they didn't know the language putting them at a disadvantage in the economy so the colonizer's would be able to keep power over them.<br>-Colonies included diverse African kingdoms that had no relationship with a region whatsoever, which forced kingdoms that hate each other to live right next to each other .<br>-Many Africans where forced to convert to Christianity and other religions because of British missionaries and other colonists, leaving behind their old religion.</div>]]></description>
