Throughout the globe, human beings mostly have one thing in common nowadays; that is, following the social media. This habit has been incredibly increasing until a new term has come to light: social media addiction. This phenomenon is becoming dramatically wide-spreading among different people of different ages. Therefore, it is of vital importance to determine the major causes of this issue.

First of which, the mentality of many people, especially the young; has been recently programmed to follow the social media anytime: during working hours, family gatherings, etc. In addition, due to the minimized number of leisure activities, the young are directed to spend most of their time on the social media. It is becoming an aspect of collective thinking (Healthy Options, n.d.).

Beside the mentality, the current lifestyle also plays a role. Most people are becoming lazy and tend to follow easily-accessed ways to enjoy themselves. So, they mostly hold their phones and iPads searching here and there over the social media to kill time, as reported by (Hilliard, 2021). For these people, going to a gym or visiting a friend is an effort-exerting routine. That is why; they tend to access the social-medial applications for enjoyment.

A final cause of social media overuse is the common peer encouragement that can spread among teenagers. Even if one liked to lead a balanced life afar from social media, they would be criticized for being old-fashioned and backward. Thus, they rush to join the club of sharing life details on the social media with their friends to catch up with the trend (The WisdomPost, n.d.).

References

Internet social media addiction occurs when a person uses these sites excessively and in a way that negatively affects the daily tasks performed by the user. First, the social media addict suffers from anxiety and disruption. For example, one of the downsides is spending a lot of time on social media like Facebook and Instagram, getting to know new people on the internet, and sending pictures or instant messages to each other instead of meeting face to face. They would rather stay in touch with friends online than meet face to face.
Second, social media addiction has a negative effect, especially Teenagers, they use social media without awareness for long periods,As a result they feel lonely and lack of communication with others. For example, if a person spends a lot of time on the Internet, it causes physical problems because she is sitting in the same position for a long time. They may suffer from health problems such as poor eyesight and back pain. In conclusion, social media addiction has an impact on society because it may cause isolation, so everyone should be careful about this and limit the time spent on the Internet, as the negative effects must be known and avoided.

any problem has a solution, we can solve it by looking at the problem, we can find a lot of solutions to it, and I will mention the best three solutions that I have , first, you can stop using social media by doing some activities in your life such as going to the gym or Hang out with friends or gathering with family, and secondly, you can use other things or other means of enjoyment. You can read books, watch TV instead of electronic devices, or try a new exercise in your life like horseback riding, skiing, or traveling around the world, and the final solution I have is, if you cannot control yourself by leaving social media, then you need to organize your time. By setting a time limit for the use of social media and the rest of your time, you can do some activity in your life and this is,best solution to your problem, also there are many solutions that I did not mention. in the end, as I mentioned at the beginning of every problem has a solution.
