4. I could create ethos by referencing my academic sources, logos by following the structure of a valid argument using the Toulmin method and pathos by talking about the social effects of a problem in my debate.

Dogs Trust – Pathos seems to be used in this ad, as they use humour and emotionally charged words.

WWF – There is a lot of ethos used, as they try use sources of authority.

Barnardo’s – Pathos is the key element used in this ad, as there is a lot of emotional appeal.

I could create ethos by finding sources with authority. Logos by addressing the opposing view and I could also include a story for pathos.

Mock Debates promote active, participatory learning and research, critical thinking, debate, and speech skills. Mock debates work best when teachers/facilitators help students prepare by providing contextual information about the topic and reliable sources for deeper research.

A special debate is a debate in the House that is allocated to non-legislative business. Examples of non-legislative business include petitions, inquiries, and local issues.
