Reflect on your own experiences using technology for learning. What technologies were used when you were a student? How were they used?

When looking back at the different types of technologies used for learning there was a decent amount we used Accelerated Reading, IXL and Google Classroom, Prezi, Flipgrid, and many more. Most of these were used to work on the skills you already had or start working on new ones. Things like Flipgrid and Prezi were used when doing presentations in class, Google Classroom was used for submitting assignments.

How were technology-related skills taught to you as a student? What kinds of skills were emphasized?

One of the technology-related skills that I remember being caught was coding, which we learned to do in 5th grade —allowing students to open their eyes to the coding world. Emailing is one of the skills taught to use in middle school, teaching this to students is something that in the real world is a good skill to have, showing how to correctly and professionally send an email which is a skill that was emphasized at that time.

What skills and knowledge do you already possess to help you meet the challenges of effectively using integrated technology in instruction? How did you learn these skills?

Some skills and previous knowledge I know already are how to use these platforms and this knowledge will allow me to create better work and even allow me to learn new things about a platform that I didn't know about, I learned these skills in a tech class at school and even regular classes as well

Discuss your experiences with your friends. Do you have similar experiences? What differences exist?

With friends and family, the experiences are so much different. My friends, can all relate to using the same bases growing up and know what I'm talking about if I say AR reading because they did that. Still, when talking to a family who is older like my parents they don't understand as much as what ill tell them when it comes to these bases and they are more lost and confused.

1. Locate a variety of articles that discuss ways to leverage technology to support student learning.

https://blog.definedlearning.com/blog/leveraging-technology-in-the-classroom

https://www.hurix.com/how-to-leverage-technology-to-improve-student-elearning-outcomes/

https://echo360.com/5-ways-students-can-leveragetechnology-to-improve-academic-grades/

2. Examine each article. Would you classify it as an opinion article, descriptive study, evaluation study, or experimental or quasi-experimental research report? Why did you classify the articles as you did?

Article one - opinion since the article talks about ideas and a personal way of how they taught or help improve their students

Article two - Descriptive since it talks about the description of one way these strategies can improve a classroom

Article three- experimental since there is no background to how their strategies worked in a classroom

3. What can you tell about the credibility of the article’s conclusions based on the author or the publication outlet? How does the credibility of the article, based on the type of research, influence your opinion?

I believe that these articles are something that people can use but they are a lot similar in ways of their strategies and how they come to think you should be improving your students' education.

4. As you review a research study, consider the list of questions you should ask yourself

Is this going to support my students in the end?

How is this going to help them in future classes?

What else can I do to help them in the long end?

1. Think about a classroom you have observed or participated in lately. Describe one example of students’ technology use.

The use of chromebooks was something that I noticed all classes use from 2 and up.

2.

1. consider the five principles of instruction listed in Table 4-1 and think about times that you have experienced one or more of these principles in action. Maybe one of your instructors asked you and your classmates to help solve a real-world problem that’s facing your community. Or perhaps your instructor helped you understand a complex process by demonstrating the process or engaging you in a technology based simulation. Can you think of a time when you were asked to apply what you learned in a teacher-based lesson during an authentic activity?

One of these principles that i can think of that was used when i was in class was the learning is promoted when learners are engaged in solving real- world problems they use it a lot to make us think out of the box more and use more of a realistic way of thinking.

2. Choose a specific principle from Table 4-1 and outline how you might implement that principle within your own classroom. Compare your ideas with those of your classmates and then create a table that includes specific ways to address each principle in your classroom.

In my own classroom I would use the promotion of engaging in solving real-world problems and the use of promoting new knowledge is applied by the learners. When addressing engaging solving real-world problems i would allow my students to think about a real world problem ex- paying for something or asking an adult for help.
