Sympathy: In the context of the poem, what does it mean to feel alone? How is the bird affected by its isolation in the cage? What is the bird denied by being kept in the cage?

In this poem, feeling alone means to feel trapped and isolated. The feeling of being alone is compared to being a bird locked in a cage. The bird sees what is happening outside and around the cage, but cannot go out or do anything about it. The bird is denied freedom by being trapped in the cage.

Sympathy: How does this relate to the Count of Monte Cristo? (Keep in mind that this bird is still caged after slavery was abolished)

The caged bird relates to the Count of Monte Cristo because both the bird and Dantes were imprisoned, longing for freedom. Both of them are innocent, but still locked away. Dantes was imprisoned in Château d'If and the bird was in a cage.

Dangers of Being Alone: How do the ideas presented in this article relate to Dantes?

The ideas presented in this article relate to Dantes because he was very lonely while imprisoned and isolated. He suffered while in the Château d'If, and felt chronic loneliness then. He also felt more stress (anxiety induced) while in the prison and alone on Monte Cristo.

The main claim the author is trying to communicate is that young people get a lot of negative anxiety from social media. They get this through "FOMO", which is the Fear Of Missing Out.
