         <description><![CDATA[<div>Newton's first law explains that an object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion unless a force is applied. In archery, the arrow will rest in the bow and will continue to rest there unless the bow is pulled forward and the arrow begins to accelerate. The arrow will continue to accelerate until forces like gravity and air resistance affect it, or the arrow is stopped by the target.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Newton's second law (F = ma), force equals mass multiplied by acceleration. This law is displayed in archery because the more force an object has, the more it will accelerate depending on its mass. For example, if two people are shooting an arrow with the same mass, but they apply different forces, one will accelerate faster and reach a farther distance.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Newton's third law says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. There are a few examples of how this law can be displayed in archery. For example, pulling the arrow back is the action, and and letting it spring forward with that force is the reaction. Another example is if an arrow hits a target (action), and then the target sways back and forth from the force (reaction). </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In archery, gravity and weight can go hand-in-hand. For example, if you have a heavy arrow and are standing far away from the target, gravity can cause the arrow to hit the ground before it reaches the target if enough force isn't applied. Aiming and direction skills are crucial parts in archery, and needing to understand how the wind and angle the arrow is being pointed will affect where it will land on the target.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Air resistance (FAir)</li></ul><div>Air resistance is the main force in archery that is most avoided, which is why the arrows are shaped so thinly, so they can slice through the air with much more ease.</div><ul><li>Gravity (FGrav)</li></ul><div>In archery, gravity will affect the arrow mid-air more than the other objects. For example, if an archer shoots the arrow, gravity will begin to pull it back toward the Earth, causing the arrow to follow a curved path.</div><ul><li>Normal Force (FNorm)</li></ul><div>As the arrow is resting and being supported up by the bow, this is known as the normal force.</div><ul><li>Applied Force (FApplied)</li></ul><div>As the string and arrow is being pulled backwards in preparation to be released, this is called the applied force.</div><ul><li>Force of Tension</li></ul><div>When the string is pulled back to prepare the release of the arrow and the bow begins to bend due to the stress, the tension of the string is know as the force of tension.<br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Archery represents four different types of friction; fluid, static, rolling, and sliding.&nbsp;Archery represents fluid friction because as the arrow is released, it's soaring through the air which is considered the fluid friction. As the arrow is stored away in the quiver (bag that holds the arrows), it has no motion which is known as static friction. When the arrow needs to be adjusted or straightened against the bow, it's being slid up or down, known as sliding friction. Rolling friction is represented in archery as the targets are being rolled across the ground. </div>]]></description>
