Breast cancer is a disease in which cells in the breast grow out of control. Breast cancer can spread outside the breast through blood vessels and lymph vessels. 

It is not communicable.

Symptoms of breast cancer are swelling of any part of the breast, skin irritation or dimpling, breast or nipple pain, and redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin.

One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,470 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 460 will die each year.

There is no known way to prevent breast cancer but, there are several ways to lower your risk of getting breast cancer. Alcohol and smoking have been linked to breast cancer so, limiting both of those things can help decrease your risk. Maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active, and breastfeeding also helps with decreasing the chances of getting breast cancer.

Regardless of race or ethnicity women are mostly to be affected by breast cancer. Men can get breast cancer too but it tends to be less than 1% of all cases. 

There are no cures for breast cancer but some of the treatments include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, hormonal therapy, and biological therapy.  Surgery can be used to remove the cancerous tissue and to see if the cancer has spread elsewhere like the lymph nodes. Chemotherapy uses medicine to shrink and kill the cancer cells. Radiation uses high energy rays to kill the cancer cells. Hormonal therapy blocks the cells from getting the hormones they need to grow and Biological therapy works with the bodies immune system to help fight cancer cells or the side effects from other cancer treatments
