• Describe the materials that make different objects (cloth, paper, wood, etc.)

• As they learn about the earth, children will learn about the characteristics of the earth's environments (mountains, rivers, oceans, valleys, and deserts) and the four seasons. They'll understand the weather, daytime vs. nighttime, the different phases of the moon, and resources and conservation.

• Basic structures of common plants and animals (arms, legs, wings, leaves, stems, roots, etc.)

My name is Ghada Abou Louz, and I am the SK2 Homeroom teacher for EALIP (Early Arabic Language Immersion Program) for the 2025/2026 school year, insha'Allah. I will also be the Arabic teacher for SK1. Ms. Malika (SK2 assistant) and I will work together as a team throughout this year, insha'Allah. I want to extend a warm welcome to you and your child. My philosophy on learning is that each child is unique and develops at different levels, requiring tailored learning opportunities.   

I hold an advanced double major in Microbiology, Immunology, and Biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I have over sixteen years of teaching experience, including a tenure in the kindergarten department at Abraar School.

Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, where children make friends and learn skills that lead them to become independent individuals. Our days and weeks will be filled with beautiful experiences and opportunities for learning and growth, insha'Allah.

We will learn all the letters of the Arabic alphabet, their phonemic sounds, and the English alphabet. We will also practice our writing and comprehension skills. Additionally, we will learn numbers, building on important math concepts, including sorting, counting, graphing, classifying, identifying patterns, telling time, handling money, measurement, addition, and subtraction. Families are encouraged to be involved in the learning process by practicing reading skills with their children daily and helping them write and draw.

A strong parent-teacher relationship is essential to maximize your child's academic success. I will communicate with you throughout the year through ClassDojo, telephone calls, emails, and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My name is Ms.Dana Chami, and I will be your child's English teacher for the 2025/2026 academic school year, insha'Allah.

In Senior Kindergarten, we use the Jolly Phonics.  Jolly Phonics is a fun and child-centred approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics. With actions for each of the 26 letter sounds, the multi-sensory method is very motivating for children. The letter sounds are split into seven groups, as shown in the Letter Sound Order chart below.

The students will experience a mixture of hands-on learning through songs and activities as well as the use of workbooks.  

We will soon begin writing in our journals and learn sentence building.

For the past 12 years, I have been teaching the Qur’an in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, and Canada, teaching students of different ages and backgrounds in their Qur’anic learning. It brings me great joy to continue this journey with the wonderful students of Abraar School.

Throughout the year, we will explore the beautiful teachings and stories of the Qur’an, helping your children build a strong foundation in recitation, pronunciation, and memorization. The goal is to nurture in them a lasting love for the Qur’an and a sincere connection with its meanings, Insha’Allah.

With the support and encouragement of both home and school, I believe we will witness wonderful growth in their Qur’anic understanding and spiritual development.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan for entrusting me with your child’s Qur’an education. I pray that Allah (SWT) blesses our efforts and makes this year a rewarding and enlightening experience for your children.
