Being able to express oneself through various means other than written format is representative of UDL (different means of expression, engagement and representation). As an educator, it is important to understand that students may need to change their environment to de-stress or de-escalate. Getting away from the typical learning environment for a short period of time is a beneficial way for students to calm their minds and refocus. This DI strategy modifies instructions in order to accommodate individual learners, based on their IEPs.
