It has influenced who I have become and has helped me see the world differently with optimism for the future. Sometime during the pandemic my family and I left the church and it was one of the hardest decisions we have ever made in life. The way we found our way through the pain of it all was in the community that embraced us after leaving known as ex-mos or ex mormons. through personal stories and empathy shared, I was able to make new friends and strong bonds as well as find peace and new meaning in my personal life journey. ex-mo culture isn't about tearing down others' faith. A lot of us are collectors of "gear" like microphones, instruments, and even different kinds of software for making music! Music has always been a part of my life but when I first started writing and recording songs, I was introduced into a world of like minded individuals who share that same interest. It goes beyond a hobby and is really a lifestyle. the thrill of coming up with a hook after hours days or even months of working with a line or a melody is second to none.
