         <description><![CDATA[<div>When Germany was going through Belgium to invade France in 1914,it instantly became a trench war.Germany was thinking of a way to break the deadlock and decided a possible solution was to use poisonous gas,yet they didn't want to be the first to use it,so there suspicions that France was the First to use 26 mm gas grenades and other weapons,the German High Command thought that it was now ok for Germany to use chemical weapons.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical weapons impacted the way people fought in wars,yet the use of chemical weapons has brought out much casualties,in fact about 1.2 million casualties due to chemical weapons.A specific battle would be the Battle of Ypres in which the Germans released  poisonous gas and afterwards,the British and French started developing chemical weapons and gas masks.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the war Germans used tear gas but because it was cold the chemicals often froze and failed the desired affects. Later on they used chlorine. This was possibly the worst because this caused a powerful irritation that inflicts damage to the eyes, nose, throat and lungs.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The gases used were not used to kill the soldiers but rather used so the soldiers were not able to defend their position. Because of the irritation of the gas used during the war most of the troops in the trenches fled and abandoned their positions leaving the Germans at an advantage. </div>]]></description>
