I learned a lot about Guadeloupe, the culture and people. I became even more aware of the internationalization of the curriculum and a global or multicultural view.

There were also many moments when I could reflect on myself, my way of teaching or even life itself. The course was really great and helped me to grow.

The 10-day course was full of great impressions. Privately, I would not have thought of traveling to Guadeloupe. I am therefore very grateful that I was able to immerse myself in French-Caribbean culture and that my love of travel and interest in other cultures was rekindled.

Therefore, thank you very much for your time, patience and the many educational visits here on this island!

I learned a lot of different things on this course. First of all, I learned a lot about the aims and objectives of Erasmus plus applications and the internationalization of our curriculum at my own school. I feel a lot more confident introducing new strategies of global learning to my colleagues and implementing them at school. I also learned a lot about French Caribbean culture and about the history of Guadalupe and the West Indies in general. Since I teach English and slavery is one of the big topics in year 13 I can use a lot of that knowledge when actually teaching my students. Personally, I learned for myself that it is important to change perspectives and also to be mindful. Although, as a teacher, you’re expected to do a lot for others (students, teachers, parents) you should never forget about your own needs and wishes. I chose this picture because it reminds me of a beautiful day in a very rough and savage environment - and I think it fits perfectly to Easter coming up this weekend.

I chose this pictures because it summarizes a lot of what I learnt here: about guadelopue, the languages (creol, English, French), its history and geography, but also about internationalisation of course and how to implement it in school, and also about myself and others.

It is currently difficult for me to choose a single photo from all the days, because I would like to choose more photos. It was great and very informative to meet people from other countries. I take away a lot of useful information and experiences. I'm sorry that due to my lack of knowledge of the language, I wasn't able to converse more. Maybe until the next meeting I will talk to everyone about everything I wanted to tell them. Thank you for a great experience and I wish everyone the best, lots of success and countless dreams come true!
