1. The name of this colony is Connecticut.

2. The colony was claimed by England.

3. Connecticut was established in 1636 as a settlement for a Puritan congregation, and the English permanently gained control of the region in 1637 after struggles with the Dutch. The Colony of Connecticut was formed when the towns of Hartford, Windsor, and Wethersfield joined together.

4. The colony was established for various reasons, such as economic opportunities, religious freedom, political refuge, and expansion of British influence. Some of the settlers, such as Thomas Hooker and his followers, were dissatisfied with the Massachusetts Bay Colony and sought more democratic governance.

5. The founder or land owner of the colony was either an individual, such as Thomas Hooker, John Winthrop Jr., or Lion Gardiner, or a joint-stock company, such as the Connecticut Company or the Saybrook Company. The colony also acquired land from the Native Americans through treaties or wars.

6. It produced various goods to export and make money, depending on its natural resources, climate, and labor force. Some of the major exports were tobacco, wheat, corn, livestock, timber, iron, and rum.

7. The form of government that the colonists established in the colonies themselves varied from town to town, but generally they had some degree of self-government, such as elected assemblies, governors, and courts. However, they were still subject to the authority of the British crown and parliament, which often imposed taxes and regulations on them. In 1639, the towns of Wethersfield, Hartford, and Windsor adopted the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut, which is considered the first written constitution in America.

8. Connecticut became associated with the New England region, along with Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and later Vermont and Maine. The New England colonies shared a common culture, religion, and economy, and were known for their shipbuilding, fishing, and trade industries.

2. British Colony

3. New York was established in 1664 and lasted until 1776.

4. In 1664, the English took possession of New Netherland from the Dutch, renaming it New York. Ownership of New York was valuable because of its location and status as a port of commerce and trade.

5. In 1664, the Dutch Province of New Netherlands in America was awarded by Charles II of England to his brother James, Duke of York. James raised a fleet to take it from the Dutch and the Governor surrendered to the English fleet. The province was renamed for the Duke of York, as its proprietor.

6. The fur trade established under Dutch rule continued to grow. As the merchant port of New York became more important, the economy expanded and diversified. Fishermen also made a decent living because New York was next to the ocean, making it a port/fishing state. Inland, farming crops made farmers a lot of money in the colony. Tradesmen made a fortune selling their wares.

7. The governor of New York was royally appointed. The governor selected his Executive Council which served as the upper house. The governor and king had veto power over the assembly's bills. However, all bills were effective until royal disapproval had occurred which could take up to a year.Elections to the house of assembly were initially held whenever the governor pleased, but eventually a law was passed requiring an election at least once every seven years. The city of New York was the seat of government and where the New York provincial assembly met. Voters were required to have a £40 freehold, in addition to requirements related to age, sex, and religion.

8. The colony was one of the Middle Colonies, and ruled at first directly from England. When the Duke of York ascended to the throne of England as James II in 1685, the province became a royal colony.

And lately conquered by Charles II and became and English colony.

3) Our colony was established on March 4, 1681.
4)Penn wanted to create a haven for his persecuted friends in the New World and asked the King to grant him land in the territory between the province of Maryland and the province of New York. On March 4, 1681, King Charles signed the Charter of Pennsylvania, and it was officially proclaimed on April 2.
5) William Penn
6) From its beginning, Pennsylvania ranked as a leading agricultural area and produced surpluses for export, adding to its wealth. By the 1750s an exceptionally prosperous farming area had developed in southeastern Pennsylvania. Wheat and corn were the leading crops, though rye, hemp, and flax were also important.
7)Government in colonial times resembled the British structure of a king and two houses of Parliament, and were subject to British rule.
Instead of a king, there was a governor and the two houses consisted of the Provincial Council and the General Assembly, modeled roughly after the British parliamentary structure.
8)The Pennsylvania Colony was classified under the Middle Colonies, alongside New York Colony, Delaware Colony, and New Jersey Colony.
