Leonardo Da Vinci: A Genius of a Renaissance Man

Leonardo Da Vinci was a man of many talents. One would say he is a Renaissance man. A Renaissance man is “a person with many talents or areas of knowledge.” Leonardo Da Vinci is the exact representation of a Renaissance man. There are several reasons to why he should be awarded Mr. Renaissance 2019. Da Vinci was a skilled painter, intelligent engineer, a surprisingly good musician, as well as many other things.

Leonardo Da Vinci came from a lower class family. At an artistic apprenticeship, Leonardo learned to ground pigment, make brushes, draw, paint, and sculpt. As Leonardo got older, he became more advanced. On page 6 of Kids Discover’s Leonardo da Vinci, it quotes that Leonardo was “A genius”, “Unmatched”, and “Divinely inspired”. Many of Leonardo’s projects would go unfinished because many said he was a perfectionist. Others thought he would get bored and gain interest in another project. Only a handful of paintings and projects were finished. A few notable paintings by Da Vinci are The Last Supper, The Annunciation, and the most famous painting in the world, the Mona Lisa. Leonardo also drew one of the most accurate, modern drawings of the human body. This drawing helped many doctors further anatomy studies and advancements. As well as a good artist, Leonardo was an inventor. He drew several sketches of technology ahead of his time. He sketched one of the first flying machines. He also drew a bridge canal, several military machines, and an improved printing press. Most of the technology Da Vinci sketched exists in the modern world today. Known as an engineer and artist, Da Vinci was also a talented musician. According to sources in the magazine, “he sang beautifully and was a fine musician.” Leonardo also played a lute like instrument and built a simplistic drum and keyboard.

For the reasons explained above, Leonardo Da Vinci should be awarded Renaissance Man of 2019. He was a creative painter, intellectual engineer, talented musician, and many more amazing skills and attributes. He was an incredible man and deserves the honor of this award. As Da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Leonardo da Vinci: the Living Definition of a Renaissance Man

Renaissance Man: “A person with many talents or areas of knowledge.” During the time period of the Renaissance, there were many great scientists such as Galileo Galilei. There were artists, like Michelangelo. There were inventors, like Leon Battista Alberti. But one man rises above the rest as a true Renaissance Man, a master of painting, inventing, and science – Leonardo da Vinci.

First off, Leonardo da Vinci was incredibly proficient in the art of painting. According to Kids Discover’s Leonardo da Vinci, he created “...such a realistic-looking dragon that his father, Ser Piero, was truly frightened upon seeing it,” as a young child. Also, during his apprenticeship Leonardo was decidedly one of the very best despite his young age according to page four of Leonardo da Vinci. Lastly, Leonardo da Vinci was a master painter due to the amount of paintings he made during his time. Even though most of them weren’t even finished, they are still considered some of the best paintings. In conclusion, Leonardo da Vinci was an expert painter due to the amount of detail in his works, proficiency in the arts, and sheer quantity of magnificent paintings he produced.

Secondly, Leonardo da Vinci was also a skilled inventor. On page eight of Leonardo da Vinci, da Vinci states in his letter that he has lots of knowledge on machines and architecture. Also, some scholars give the great invention of the bicycle to Leonardo, one of the most-used transportation devices in a lot of areas that we still use today. In conclusion, Leonardo da Vinci was, additionally to an excellent painter, a very skilled inventor and engineer as well.

Overall, Leonardo da Vinci was the living definition of a Renaissance Man. He was well-rounded, or skilled in many areas. It is manifest that he is a true candidate for Renaissance Man because he was both an astonishing artist and engineer.

Leonardo de Vinci should be the renaissance man for 2019 because he was creative, a scientist, an artist, creative, and was brave. He was a musician, an inventor, and was super smart. Leonardo was creative in everything he did. He really had a passion for what he did. Leonardo was an apprentice for 13 years. He learned how to draw, paint, sculpt, make brushes, and ground pigments. With this information, he could do what any artist could do. Leonardo has three main things he is known for. He is known for the Mona Lisa, the last supper, and his flying machine. He had a huge impact on history. When inventing his flying machine, he thought humans could fly. He then did research and figured out that humans don’t have enough muscles to fly by themselves. He then made the flying machine. This invention failed but Leonardo put so much work into what he does. Leonardo was a scientist. He studied physics and was a true visionary. He was making inventions and experimenting with things with technology ahead of their time. Leonardo was the true rennicanse man because of his work ethic, creativity, and his impact on history.

Leonardo DaVinci was a man of exceptional talents, incredible ingenuity, and extreme curiosity. DaVinci had marvelous talents for science, art, and many other things. His incredible ingenuity helped him to envision inventions that wouldn't be created until many years later, and many of these inventions like battleships, wings, tanks, and helicopters were sketched in his hundreds of notebooks, ready to be built. His extreme curiosity led him to explore many subjects that helped him understand the world around him. His endeavors included geology, anatomy, and botany. His artistic abilities were astounding. He perfectly captured people in his paintings, and in ones were he painted ideas and scenes, and not people, he portrayed the emotions of the scenes to the point of them being almost lifelike and moving. DaVinci once said, "Study the Science of Art." this is just one half of the quote. The other half is "[then] Study the Art of Science." This is a quote that explains DaVinci's work perfectly. He did creative work, but he did it systematically and precisely. He did precise, systematic work, with a flair of creativity. He was both a scientist and an artist, a man of logical thought, and creative brilliance. This is why Leonardo DaVinci should win the award of the Ultimate Renaissance Man.

Leonardo Da Vinci has done everything that you can think of. He was a skilled musician, an engineer, an artist, a scientist, and he was an inventor. He has done it all and he should be the ne crowned the renaissance man.

While in his time of inventing he invented planes, tanks, helicopters, the flying man, the dredger, the battleship, the paddleboat, the digging machine, the mirror grinder, the spring driven car, the parachute, and he upgraded the printing press to make it better. Some of these things weren’t made until hundreds of years after Leonardo died.

As a work of the arts he painted the Mona Lisa and when he was young, he drew such a realistic dragon that it scared his dad so he became an apprentice to one of the best artist at the time which helped improve the elementary education that he earned. He could draw humans Very realistically and wrote in his notebook in mirror handwriting. Mirror handwriting is writing backwards. This was so people couldn’t steal his ideas.

He was a musician. People said that he had a very good singing voice as well as a good instrumental music that he would play.

He did all of the things that everyone wanted to do, and you might think of him being a hyperbole, but he is not. There is evidence of him being able to do great things and his notebooks had sketches of the inventions that he made with the paper dating back to when he lived so it is all there, and it is all true.

Leonardo da Vinci should be the Rennaissance Man. His painting, The Mona Lisa, is still the most popular painting in the world. Da Vinci established color and different ways to paint. Foreground and Background and 3D shapes were only some of his helpful art tips for this world. He manages to also combine many other things besides art into his life also.

Besides his artwork, he did a lot of other things. Not only was he an artist, but he was also an inventor. He invented many things such as a robot and a special tank. Da Vinci couldn’t write though. You know how when Albert Einstein was creating the lightbulb, he could write down notes about his predictions on what would happen. Da Vinci couldn’t do that. This is another reason why he should be names the Rennaissance man of 2019. He can do multiple different things and be good at all of them even when he doesn’t have some abilities that would be useful when doing them.

He created different genres of art. Most people back then stayed to one topic when they made their art. He branched out to do religious and normal ones. This shows that he isn’t like the other artists. He is different.

Leonardo Da Vinci didn’t just have the Mona Lisa as his popular painting. The Last Supper is also huge painting that still stands today. People think that the Mona Lisa is his only good piece of art but once they see the rest, they just can’t look away. Da Vinci has that effect on people. These reasons are why I believe Leonardo Da Vinci should be The Rennaissance Man. If he doesn’t deserve it, who does?

Leonardo Da Vinci is the ultimate Rennaissance man because he was a jaw dropping artist and was an amazing thinker for his time period. To be a great thinker you must have creativity and ingenuity, Davinci had both. He thought of things that were made hundreds of years later for example the parachute. He thought of it and hundreds of years later someone made it. He could think of these things because he had so much creativity and ingenuity to know about something hundreds of years before anyone else did.

Leonardo Davinci was a master at the arts, both music and painting. He made the most famous painting of all, the Mona Lisa. Millions of people go to see his painting that was made hundreds of years ago and has remained the most famous. He even created his own instrument for him to play in his free time. He was one of the people who started putting background of his pictures to make them more realistic which is another thing he practiced by not making man-babies. He started liner perspective which was huge step forward in the world of art. He sketched machines used in war that were used hundreds of years later that could have made huge advances in war. Not only was he the greatest artist and thinker and musician he wrote in a special way too. He wrote backwards to his left hand would not smear the ink, so he was always neat. He used a technique in his art like in his painting “The Last Supper” he used lines, so it leads you to Jesus’ face. DaVinci is the ultimate Rennaissance man because he is a ground-breaking artist and an amazing thinker.

An artist, scientist, musician, engineer, inventor all into one? That’s right. Leonardo Da Vinci has done all of this in a single lifetime. Who wouldn’t want him to be the renaissance man?

As an artist, Leonardo created the world most famous painting; the Mona Lisa. He also made the Last Supper, a painting showing Jesus’s last meal before being crucified. Leonardo sketched many inventions that were used hundreds of years later, like the parachute. Fun fact: Leonardo did not complete most of his major works.

Being an inventor, Da Vinci drew sketches of helpful and smart inventions. One thing that he invented was the parachute, which is now lifesaving to many people. He also thought of the idea of the helicopter, which wasn’t invented until the late 1930s. Other sketches of inventions he drew was the battleship, tank, and model of a flying man.

He was a skilled musician on an instrument called the lira da braccio, kind of like a lute. He even built a unique drum and a keyboard.

Leonardo planned a city with his great engineering. He felt as though the city was overcrowding and that gave it problems. To fix this, he divided the big city of Milan into ten towns of five thousand houses each.

Finally, he was a scientist. He researched and drew the movement of water. In the drawing, he showed turbulent violent nature of the movement of water.

These are all the reasons that Leonardo Da Vinci should be considered the Renaissance Man.

Leonardo Da Vinci deserves the title of the ‘Renaissance Man’. He was a man of many skills and talents. One of his most famous skills was art. He painted the most famous painting in the world. Ever heard of the Mona Lisa? Da Vinci also painted The Last Super. In his paintings he used many techniques. These included liner perspective, sfumato, composition, aerial perspective, and chiaroscuro. Some people believe that Michelangelo is the ‘Renaissance Man’. Sure, he did some sculptures and paintings but, unlike Leonardo Da Vinci, he never invented anything. Another talent of Da Vinci was that he was an inventor. He would come up with an idea and then sketch it on paper. Unfortunately, many of his inventions were not made until after he died. Some of Da Vinci’s inventions that he invented or improved included the printing press, battleship, parachute, mirror grinder, tank, model of the Flying Man, and helicopter. His inventions made life easier, faster, and safer. That was the big thing in the Renaissance. Da Vinci was also an expert in biology, architecture, sculpture, geology, city planning, and physiognomy. A man of many skills and talents, he was. This is why Leonardo Da Vinci deserves the title of the ‘Renaissance Man’.

Leonardo da Vinci should be the Renaissance Man of 2019. A true Renaissance man is skilled and intelligent in so many different categories. In the magazine, Leonardo da Vinci, Leonardo da Vinci is extremely skilled in painting and drawing. In one of his most famous paintings, The Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci showed his talent and made her look as if she were real and it was a photograph. He was one of the few artists in the Renaissance who could get the proportions of a human look right so they would look real. Leonardo wasn’t just known for his painting. In fact, Leonardo was also a sculptor. On page 9 Leonardo builds a 22-foot high horse. This horse looked very realistic because he studied horse’s movements from every angle. A Renaissance man is truly skilled in many different categories. On page 10 are all of Leonardo’s inventions. Leonardo da Vinci knew about planes, cars, boats, and all kinds of other machines. Leonardo was a sculptor, painter, and so much more. Leonardo was one of the few who knew about bodies. Many drawings and sketches of human bodies were made by him. This helped doctors and other people help patients. Polymaths were very smart and intelligent people. Leonardo was a huge Polymath. He was the smartest person in the Renaissance because he did not just know about one thing. Leonardo da Vinci should be the Renaissance person of the year because he is a true Renaissance man.

In the magazine, Leonardo Da Vinci, he had strong knowledge in knowing about the human body and how it worked. He was great at anatomy and would draw the human body in his sketchbook. These sketches even helped doctors learn more about the body since he had all these anatomy pictures. He also had many great ideas for inventions that he made up including a battleship, a model of a flying man, and even a helicopter. He had many famous paintings that he created which had backgrounds to them including the Mona Lisa which was for the husband of Mona Lisa, named Francesco Giocondo, but when Da Vinci finished it, he loved his masterpiece so much that he kept it and it later went on display. Another one of his paintings titled the last supper meant something because it was the picture of Jesus with his disciples for the last time before he rose to heaven and it means that he loved Jesus and loved Christianity. Since he had so many accomplishments in so many different things, he was called the man of many talents. He was also a very smart man who wrote his writing backward on his paper so people couldn’t read it unless they put it up to a mirror. This made it so that none of his ideas could be stolen by other people who wanted them. He is well known around the world and is seen as one of the greatest artists of all time. From his famous painting of the Mona Lisa to his marvelous inventions he is brilliant and should be named Renaissance man of 2019.
