My connection between the selection and a book is a book about Martin Luther King Jr. It includes the fact that his house was blown up, and that very same thing happened to Joey's church.

My connection between the selection and cultural norms is that many people take three-week vacations like the Watsons when they went and stayed in Birmingham for about that amount of time.

My connection between the selection's prejudices and our present-day prejudices is the policeman shooting a colored person. The policeman thought he was holding a gun, and also the colored man was in his own backyard! I think I can relate that to the bombing of Joey's church in the selection because I really think that the policeman would not have shot the young man if he was white. 

This is not exactly current but at this time period whites for some reason hated blacks. Why you ask but sadly there is no reason, some whites still hate blacks today.

I have read hidden figures, black people standing up for themselves like this book.

People who believe in god go to Sunday school and or church like Joey who attends Sunday school when whites bomb here church.

Joey has the value of curiosity, like when she asked so many questions to Kenny “Where’s momma? Why did you change your clothes? Who’s shoe is that?” Like Joey I love asking questions.

Answer: I was in Florida and I was in a water slide, like anybody I slid down. When I came from the slide in to the pool I drowned, not by a whirlpool or “Wool Pooh,” but I just couldn’t swim so the life guard jumped in and saved my life; just like Byron saved Kenny. I can relate to Kenny.

Answer: In “Role of Thunder Hear My Cry,” there were colored bathrooms and people made fun of African Americans because of the color of their skin. People treated them badly.

Rules: Question: Connect any “Rules” that the characters must follow with “Rules” you have observed in other texts, the world, or your personal life.

Answer: A person in this year started a mass shooting.

Ethics: Question: What biases, stereotypes, or prejudices were revealed in this section. Have you observed these in a real world setting. Answer: A guy bombed a church and In Iran people bombed everything.

Chapter 14 can relate to history like when we learned about the tragedy of 9/11 and how the planes hit the twin towers. Chapter 14 is similar to this because someone dropped a bomb on joeys church.

A cultural norm with someone religious is to go to church or Sunday school but if you are not religious then you probably wouldn’t go to church or Sunday school.

The Weird Watsons family value joetta just like m6 family values me and I value them. They were all worried about joetta just like I would be if it were someone from my family.

Across discipline.2 The bomb hit the church it was sad and it’s in someone history books about Alabama history I think schools in Birmingham talk about what happened in history 

Rules 3 Joey had s Sunday school and I used to have a Sunday school to make me better at Punjabi at the gurdawara cause my mom said it’s a normal thing to make me better at are langue cause California doesn’t have a lot of Punjabi speakers

Ethics 4 Kenny is usually up and energized but he was just feeling lazy on school days I get Energized but on the weekend I wake up and just want to go back to sleep but I can’t when I walk I just walk into something cause I’m so tired then I go to the kitchen and eat something then I turn on the tv and watch whatever is on then I usually wake up fully.

How dose this selection connect to something that you have read or experienced? 2) When I do my homework I repeat the words I’m writing in my head, witch means I can’t hear anything.

Compare and contrast the culture norms presented in this selection in this selection with current curtail cultural norms. 3) This is not a norm or anything, but the church got boomed because of civil rights, and in our world today, people still get treated terribly because of there cultural backgrounds!

Have you observed these in other text or in real-world experiences? 4) In a book, “The Hate You Give” is about this girl who had a best friend and a police shot him for no reason. Later in the book, the girl’s friend was very racist and said he got shot because he was black. 

     2. I can relate to Joey because I used to go to a class where we talked about god and church just like Joey’s church and the Watsons.

     3. It reminded me of a text to world, because someone dropped a bomb on Joey’s church and it reminded me of 9/11 and there were bombs.

     4. The Watsons value Joey, because they were worried that she died in the bombing.

Something that I can connect with would be hw Kenner was worried about Joey well I have been scared when I lost my sisters on a walking with my dog .

When Kenny lost her sister he zoned in and focused like when I got locked out of my house I was focused in finding the spare key because thy was the only way to .

Some of the contrast parts are know more separate bathrooms, schools, and water fountains . Also how African American and cocasion are getting along . 

Some of the compare things are well hoe Joey goes to Sunday school and i go to church .

 Nobody likes when there is a booming on any building .

Well how Kenny’s values is joeys ,mine is my family .

    I can connect this book to something I have read outside this book, for example I have read a book that had a lot of racism.

    Next, a rule that is shown throughout the story is that people treat black people like garbage.

    The prejudices, stereotypes, and biases I observed were white people bombing a church to kill man black kids and adults.

Connections I can make was when I went to Louisiana there confederate flags, that represents the kkk.
