- USA wanted to eradicate communism and therefore helped South Vietnam by giving them ressources and sending troops.
- As they failed to do so, retracting their troops when they started to believe that they could not help get rid of communism in Vietnam, South Vietnam was completely taken over and there was no longer a division between the two states; Vietnam became one.
- It was a cruel and primitive war.
